We came for brunch and overall had a really nice experience. The espresso martinis were delicious and perfectly balanced, and the grilled banana bread appetizer was a standout. I also enjoyed the biscuit.

The only downside was my cheese and sausage. The cheese was cold, and the sausage had some unchewable gristle and did not seem fully cooked, so I only had a few bites. I did not mention it since we were at a social event, and I am confident it would have been addressed if I had. I also was not asked about it, even though it was mostly left behind, which could be a helpful quality check opportunity.

We loved our server. Friendly, attentive, and professional. I would definitely go back and try it again.

Everything, I mean EVERYTHING was .
All the selections the Lady hostess recommended were ON POINT. The Pamento Mac and cheese (I know it sounds crazy) was the most surprising and hardest to stop eating. The Oysters appetizers lasted all but 10 secs at the table after trying the 1st one, lol. Burgers and fries are hard to compare with others, but I will say theirs is Top Tier. Our server Adam was very welcoming and provided his own recommendations for their signature meals (Fettuccine with added Chicken). We came back the next night for Great drinks and enjoyed the evening ambiance. We had their banana Mule “my new favorite drink” and a Last word. It is walking distance within downtown to try other restaurants, sight see, and shop.
Worth everything cent spent.
This is a hidden Gem in Kentucky and worth a trip of your in the area.
We will visit again.

Also the restrooms are one the you have to see for yourself, lol.

Located in the 21C hotel the Lockbox is Unique. The Baked feta appetizer was hands down the best part of the meal, even being the appetizer. The Bibb lettuce-apricot salad was very tasty, more for one person, not two. Easy yes for another to taste but not share. The lemon noodle main course, Herbed Tagliatelle and cornmeal dusted trout were not meals either of us would recommend. My husband was looking forward to the trout and was disappointed. I like lemon dishes and this was just not tasty. The pictures in the dining room are of Cabaret girls with their faces covered, wild animals being pet by children, and a man with both hands possibly cut off, wringing blood..
Art.. is in the eye of the beholder.. and conversation pieces… however we agreed strange pieces in a dining area.
Connected was the 21C museum and we walked through it after dinner expecting to see quite a lot of pieces in the main exhibition hall. There was one. There were several scattered about on different floors but if you are expecting to see many pieces… you won’t.

We had breakfast/brunch here on Saturday and it was outstanding. The biscuits and breakfast sandwiches are amazing. We also tried the yogurt and granola bowl with fruit and that was excellent as well. Their bacon is smoky, salty and perfect!! We will definitely be back when we’re in town again. We also loved their drinks and service was kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Our table ordered appetizers that delighted: chicken fried beef cheeks, sausage balls, hamachi crudo and charred squash. All 4 of us thought a different one was the best (I was a toss-up between hamachi crudo and beef cheeks). Do not miss these starters.
Then the entrees appeared: rye pappadelle, chicken schnitzel, flounder and a steak. Bravo to the kitchen! They were all praised at our table.
We ended with a couple of desserts. If you love chocolate, don’t miss chocolate torte. Wow.
Service was attentive, not intrusive.
Lovely place for business meal or special date night.

Good was exquisite. The cocktail menu had too many amazing drinks to choose from. We decided to share our food amongst the table, and I would highly recommend doing this to ensure that we try all the delicious offerings. We loved our slow-paced dinner and plan to visit again soon.

Server was kind person. Unfortunately, I’ve worked in the service industry for 6 years and when kitchen says hands you don’t let food sit(especially without a heat lamp) for twenty minutes to the point where you have to replate it before serving(open concept kitchen is beautiful but gets you with things like this). I believe this delay was caused by the drinks being late because I only received my food after my drink and after the other table received their food and drinks. I would have appreciated at least an apology for the late drink or late food. Great plating job by the kitchen tho and the drink tasted good.

We have eaten at the LockBox on several occasions in the past five years. Tonight, an early dinner on New Year’s Eve, was a disappointment.

First of all, the positive. The chef obviously knows what he is doing. The food and presentation is top-notch with the possible exception of the bib lettuce salad which was unremarkable.
What happened to the wedge salad with crab? Only one salad option? Really?
Our entrees were all exceptional, with the exception that the flounder was served less than hot.
Desserts were very good! But, really? Only three choices?
I asked for decaf coffee which never arrived and when I inquired was told they were “out”. Ah—-really??
We had to ask for separate plates for the salads we made clear we were sharing. The wait staff presentation lacks any polish in training and attire. Our server was less than attentive and seemed overwhelmed.
Frankly, I was embarrassed as we had invited another couple to join us.
There was no special menu for New Year’s Eve which was another disappointment.
We will not return. Too many other better choices.

Thanksgiving 2025 we went and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The food was perfect. Everything was amazingly prepared and delivered. I was concerned about paying that higher price but it definitely for $190 for two people was well worth it. We will enjoy it again hopefully next year. Thank you for being open on Thanksgiving Day. The food atmosphere service was great. The only thing that I would say might add to me would be white tablecloths. We have reservations before a concert next week. I commend the chef for his preparation of Thanksgiving for that many people and we look forward to eating there again soon. Brian also was very helpful in getting our reservations the first part of October. Holly Vanderknapp
