We came during the restaurant week and got the french onion soup for appetizer, steak frites, and chocolate ganache tarte for dessert. We also had the french dip and the burger. We agreed the highlight was the steak frites, the peppercorn sauce was really good, meat was cooked perfectly, on top of that the frites stole the scene. It was cut thinly and all was crunchy! The server was attentive and came to check our order frequently. Overall nice experience.

Really loved the winter restaurant week lunch experience overall, though some dishes were better than others. Huge plus that they participate in restaurant week on Saturdays, which is a rare find, and the service was stellar beginning to end. The Moulin Rouge drink was fantastic, as was the onion soup and the crème brûlée. The filet mignon steak frites was an absolute star dish (though the peppercorn sauce may have been just a tad too salty, I still loved it). We were less impressed with the pate and chocolate Tarte (they were just ok), and a bit disappointed with the escargot which we thought lacked flavor. Overall the experience was great (I’m still dreaming about the shoe string fries that came with the steak). Can’t wait to return!

Fantastic experience. I made a reservation on Google for a Wednesday evening and everything was smooth. We ordered the Porterhouse to share, cooked medium, and it was amazing. They bring the steak tableside so you can approve the doneness, which I really appreciated.

Bread service was great. The butter was perfectly melty and the bread itself was very good. I ordered the Lavender 75 made with gin, a refreshing and light cocktail. I also had a White Russian, which was nice and strong with a good creamy balance.

The steak was incredible. It comes with two sides and two sauces, and there was also a garlic bonus served on the plate. Definitely a great option for two people, maybe even three. The dessert menu looked tempting, but we were too full to try anything this time.

Would absolutely come back.

A solid 4.5 stars for a spot that landed on several of the “Best French restaurants in NYC” lists. My husband loved his burger, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My steak frites was good, maybe not the very best (meat had some tough spots) and I expected perfection given the name of the restaurant. French onion soup was lovely, as was the crème brûlée. Both entrees were served with a very generous portion of thinly cut crispy fries. The wine list was quite good – we enjoyed our bottle of cult Northern Rhône producer Francois Villard’s Croze Hermitage. I would recommend this spot if you find yourself hungry on the west side.

We LOVED everything about this place! The atmosphere was cozy and beautiful, loved the decor. The food was so delicious, and the portions were extremely generous for the price! Everything from the onion soup and salads to the steak frites and roast chicken were so delightful. Cocktails were thoughtful and well-balanced, and the service was extremely prompt and friendly. Our server recommended a wonderful dessert wine that we loved! 10/10!

Steak frites is France’s most classic meat-and-potatoes meal, a bistro staple, and the ultimate comfort food. The idea behind the dish is to dip the fries into the steak juices on the plate. Both Belgium and France claim a stake in the founding of this dish. While Belgium may have created it, it didn’t become popularized until French chefs perfected it.

Located on 9th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, my partner and I were looking forward to dining at Steak Frites Bistro before our show. A reservation was easily made via Resy.

Upon arrival as first-timers, we were transported to a cozy bistro in Paris. Greeted by the host, Pierre, a table was ready for us by the window inside their beautifully designed main dining room with a warm, inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home with an authentic French vibe. They have an additional dining room called the Peacock Room that’s charming, quaint, and quieter for private events.

The menu changes seasonally and comprises all the authentic French bistro classics. We decided on the Lunch Pre-Fixe. As an appetizer, we decided on the Salade Verte and Soupe à l’Oignon Gratinée. For our main, we opted for the Steak Frites. For dessert, we got the Crème Brûlée and Chocolat Ganache Tarte.

All were well prepared; flavors were incredible, tasty & simple in their execution. The service was exceptional: incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the entire meal. Our server was Agnes.

This spot buzzes with theatergoers, locals, and food lovers drawn to the area’s diverse dining scene, which we can recommend.

Place was ok, the food was good just took extremely long for food to arrive especially compared to customers that came in after us. We did the lunch prix fixe with the Onion Soup Gratinee, Steak Frites, Crème Brûlée (for my friend) and Chocolat Ganache Tarte.

Arrived 10 mins before our booking and we got seated but it took about 10 mins before we can actually place an order. The starter took about 30 mins after we ordered it to arrive, before followed by our drinks. We finished the food within 10 mins and from that it took another 45 mins to get the entree, the dessert came around 15 mins after that. Overall for a lunch that we were expecting to probably finish around 1hr to 1hr30mins ended up making us finish around 2hrs-2hr30 mins. Food was not quick to deliver but the check certainly was, since 2mins, mid bite of the dessert we got the bill.

I would say that it was similar for everyone else around us, but people that came in 5-10 mins after us were able to get their orders placed before us and also got their food and was able to finish before us.

The food was alright but definitely could have gotten food elsewhere if we knew this was going to be how long the wait between food would have been.

Atmosphere was not too bad, they had a mix of Christmas music playing and you can still be able to make good conversation with your group.

Would say that based on observing as I waited for my food, that the wait time for a table was not extreme. As for a Saturday it had a good group of people dining but not extreme enough that people had to be lined up waiting. Took them about 2-5mins before they seated a group that came as a walk-in. Would still probably advise to have a reservation at least for the weekend.

The onion soup gratinee was good, went well with the bread that they brought. The Steak Frites tasted great, well seasoned and came hot. My friend and I tried each other’s desserts and they were both excellent, the crème brûlée was very nice and creamy and was my favorite compared to the Chocolat Ganache Tarte, since the Tarte had a very rich dark chocolate, and was slightly crunchy. Additionally the roaring 20’s marg was good and very flavorful, while the lemonade my friend ordered was more on the very sweet side.

Overall not my best experience regarding wait time of food, but it was not a bad location or atmosphere.

Had dinner here last night. Sat at the bar and Juan was the bartender— He was outstanding!

Great attention to detail and a nice conversationalist. Treat yourself to a glass of red wine to accompany your steak. Yum!

Fantastic food, spectacular staff / service, and an amazing ambiance. Talked to the restaurant host on the way out the door about how to improve foot traffic and diner throughput during peak hours— This place gets all the credit it deserves and is definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area. Check it out!

Winter restaurant week , $60.00 per a person, with a drink tax and gratuity. Ended up 100.00 per a person. Going out for a meal is getting very expensive. Can’t afford a casual dinning , I suppose dinning has to be for a special occasion. Over all the experience was good , I had the cow cheek , my first time . The salmon for 40.00 too expensive, not sure how it is . The mussels is delicious, the brown bread is hearty and delicious.

A charming little restaurant with excellent staff and amazing food. We went on a whim for a 45th birthday celebration and it was wonderful. We would definitely recommend people go.

The steaks are cooking amazingly, but they were slightly larger for us, they had no problem with us sharing. Also the desserts are heavenly!

Definitely give a cocktail a try! We loved ours. The Lucious Lichi was so good!
