A very close friend brought me to Nalan Indian Cuisine for my first experience with Indian food, and I honestly loved everything about it. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was very clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the entire experience genuinely felt like I was actually in India eating there.
The food was outstanding. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Since this was my first time trying this style of food, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I genuinely enjoyed everything. The presentation was great, and the portions were generous. The drinks were refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal.
I also really appreciated how patient and helpful the staff was in explaining the dishes and making recommendations. They made trying something completely new feel easy and enjoyable. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others.

First time trying dosa and it was a 10/10! Our waitress was incredibly sweet and patient, taking the time to help us find the perfect one. While the rest of the meal(goat curry, butter chicken, chicken biryani, & naan was good up to standard, that Masala Dosa was the absolute star of the show. It was the perfect fresh and delicious We’ll definitely be back for more!

I will never order takeout from this place again. I ordered a mild kerala coconut lamb but it was spicy as hell and I couldn’t eat it without dipping it in yogurt.
I paid $21 for this soup size container of the lamb. When I’ve had it at the restaurant they serve it in a decent size platter. They totally skimp on takeout orders.

Was visiting the area for work and Nalan was recommended from a local at the hotel. As soon as we walked in the restaurant smelled incredible. I ordered a chicken curry and got naan and rice on the side. This was absolutely delicious! Will be visiting again next time I am in the area. Restaurant is BYOB.

I am from Michigan, visited the restaurant when I was in Harrisburg for my class, glad that I found this restaurant. Really awesome food, good cafe kind of ambiance, their dosa definitely tasted different and better – both kal dosa and masala dosa, not exaggerating honestly, loved the food. Didn’t have the aftereffects (heartburn) of eating at an Indian restaurant. The taste felt like homemade, the filter coffee was good, masala dosa was crispy but not dry, their Kerala parotta was freshly made, not frozen. Was impressed by their infused water, felt a bit special. Took biriyanis, for the road. I am going to make this my go to restaurant for my future classes. A little bit expensive but worth it once a month. Wish their website was a bit updated. Overall my experience exceeded my expectations.

Nalan is indeed the best , I repeat , the best Indian restaurant in the greater Harrisburg area. I eat out a lot and I am saying that with responsibilities. I have been there many times and their food never disappointed me.
I would recommend Goat Pepper fry with Paratha. This is the best among all the items they offer, in my opinion.
Last time we went there we had chicken tandoor, fried rice and goat pepper fry with paratha. I also liked their fried rice a lot.
Chicken tandoor came with two quarter legs. They cooked it very good. We thought we would take one of the legs as a take out. But ended up eating there, because it was that good.
The atmosphere there is fine. Though I believe their seating capacity needs to be increased. It is a small restaurant with limited seating capacity. During weekends the crowd is more.
The staffs are super cool. They are friendly and take care of the customers very well. They are fast in providing service as well.
Therefore, I didn’t find anything that would take my rating down from 5. In all aspects they deserve a 5, from what I experienced so far.
