While the quality and taste of the food were excellent—specifically the chicken salad, turkey blt sandwiche, potato salad, chips, and half and half tea—there were several aspects of the experience that left much to be desired. Despite it being a quiey Tuesday afternoon, the service was very slow, and the staff were not particularly pleasant. Additionally, we found the menu to be overpriced for the overall experience provided.
I also believe the establishment would benefit from offering a senior discount, or at least ensuring that guests are informed if one is already available.
As the quality of the food is quite high, the service and pricing structure currently detract from the experience.

Great staff, awesome manager, and delicious food. My husband and I enjoy the chance to come in and enjoy the pick 2 and amazing tea. The manager even recommended the smokehouse spud and it was delicious. Food is always fresh and quickly arrives.

We moved to Rock Hill in April 2025 from Tennessee. McAlister’s was previously my favorite go to for drive-thru pickup. The Rock Hill Store is a huge disappointment. They do not have a drive-thru even though the website says they do. I can live with that but … The food quality? Poor. The food quantity? Poor. I have been to this location twice and I was very very very disappointed both times. The service is bad, the food is not up to par, and the worst part is the quantity of the portions. The salad container and side cups were barely half filled both times I have picked up from here. I might try again after speaking to management who explained this is something they’re working on but if I have the same experience a third time then I’m crossing this McAlister’s off my list. So disappointing because as I previously stated, McAlister’s in Tullahoma, Tennessee was my favorite go to for drive-thru and I visited at least 2 to 3 times a week.

I ordered a half and half combo, half roast beef, is should I say break with thin slices of roast beef and southwest salad. The salad had very small amounts of chicken, thinly sliced. Was supposed to have a black bean relish, but what is had was 6 total black beans and maybe about 10 pieces of corn. The salad portion was fair, just not the southwest part. But considering they are barely making any money at $16 for a half sandwich and half salad. It makes sense that they would skimp on the black beans, corn AND salad dressing. Oh, and I ordered ahead so that I wouldn’t have to wait in line…but I had to wait behind 5 different orders. When I finally made it to the counter after about 10 minutes, the kid turned around and got my stuff…which had been sitting behind him instead of at the ‘to go’ cabinet. $17 for this poor service, the food was fair at best and aside from lettuce , everything else was limited in portion. Won’t ever go again.

First time experience was disappointing
This was my first time ever walking into McAlister’s Deli, and unfortunately it wasn’t a great experience. When I walked in, I said hello to the employees at the counter, but the ladies who were there completely ignored me. No greeting, no acknowledgment—nothing. It made me feel very uncomfortable, especially as a first-time customer.
After a moment, Sofi came out and did try to apologize and offer help, which I appreciate, but the initial experience had already left a bad impression. Customer service matters, and being ignored when you walk into a restaurant isn’t acceptable.
I hope management addresses this so future customers feel welcomed from the moment they walk in.

Completely disappointed and unsatisfied in the presentation and quality of my order. This was my first time ordering at this location and it left much to be desired. The potato soup was mostly mashed broth. The grilled chicken was just lacking… for the price, the quality should have been better. I frequent Columbia and Charlotte locations. The Rock Hill location should be ashamed for sending this out of their kitchen.

Stopped here for dinner…Had the Italian sub and a piece of red velvet cheesecake. Both were really good. If I lived in the area, I’d definitely go back. My wife wanted a coffee and they didn’t have any. So, in the interest of feedback, if you’re going to serve desserts, serve coffee.

My friend and I came here for dinner after a day of shopping. We received our sandwiches burnt and when we asked to have them remade, they told us that’s the way it comes. Meanwhile we have been here MULTIPLE times and know how the sandwiches come. There was one nice lady who got our issue resolved but only after waiting a longggg time. Very disappointed.

i visit basically every day and get the same thing; always a great experience, but whoever made the jalapeño turkey crunch on 1/15/26 at 2:15 pm needs a raise. that sandwich made my whole day.
