Amazing food all around!
Ordered from Empire Szechuan in Englishtown, NJ and everything was spot on. The pork lo mein was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the sesame chicken was crispy with just the right amount of sweetness, and the boneless spare ribs were tender and delicious. The shrimp kung pao had a great balance of heat and freshness, and the egg drop & wonton mix soup was comforting and flavorful. Portions were generous, food was fresh, and everything tasted fantastic. Definitely a go-to spot for quality Chinese food!

Decided to try this place on an early Saturday afternoon, around 3:30 or so. The place was relatively empty except for another couple, however it exuded a comfortable atmosphere. Our server greeted us, gave us some time to order and upon returning took our order, however we never received the fried wonton chips with sauces like the 3 other tables that arrived after us after our order was taken. A group of servers then gathered at a table to eat, not a problem, but we felt we were not a priority. The general tso’s chicken was very good, however, the chicken was not crispy. The lo mein was meant as a replacement for the rice, but somehow became a side dish and was charged as such. The lamb dish was very good and very flavorful, an excellent choice. Both soups were very good and above average compared to most. All in all a decent experience with above average food, worth a try IMO.

Food was just not good it just tasted off and not like chicken. Would love to give it another chance possibly. My brother liked his food.

Empire Szechuan in Englishtown, NJ is a neighborhood jewel of a Chinese restaurant. I went there with my cousin. She didn’t think we needed a reservation, but she made one anyway. It’s a good thing we had that reservation because this restaurant is very popular. Soon after we arrived there was a line of people waiting for tables.

We both had a combination dinner which comes with either soup or egg roll, pork fried rice, and your choice among several entrees. She had roast pork and Chinese vegetables. She enjoyed her meal, but she didn’t like the fortune in her fortune cookie.

I had an egg roll, pork fried rice and shrimp chow mein. They were excellent. My fortune in the cookie was just fine. The cookie itself was sweet and delicious.

Neither of us ordered the regular entrees, but I saw some regular entrees being served at other tables. Those entrees are big enough for two adults.

Service was friendly and efficient. The decor is very nice. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, and there’s plenty of free parking in the lot out front.

I am so happy that I FINALLY found a spot for great Chinese food. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that all of my previous favorite spots have gone downhill. I started to ask around (and I grew up not too far from here) where the best spot was, and 3 different people all said Empire so I tried it for the first time yesterday……. AMAZING.

Firstly, the chicken was real, quality chicken – no chewy pieces, and cooked right. Same for the beef. Every bite was better than the last.

Not only will I be back, but it will most likely be weekly. Absolutely fantastic.

Also, nice surprise, not sure if it was because of how much I spent but I paid cash and received a free item (went with the rainbow roll). Sushi was great too.

Special, top-tier Chinese. Great, quiet atmosphere and very friendly service. Started with the egg drop wonton soup, the broth was flavorful and had just the right texture, and the wontons were delicious and tightly filled with quality filling and not too doughy. Then the firecracker shrimp were plentiful, fresh, not overcooked, on a bed of fresh lettuce with a wonderful sauce (the sauce was so good i ate all of the lettuce underneath too!) The chicken dumplings (fried), like the wontons, were filled with high quality ingredients and the dough had a pleasing crunch (awesome.) moving on to the pork egg foo young which wasn’t burnt nor undercooked (which is a major problem with most places) it was all cohesive bites with pork and eggs and herbs finished with a sinful brown sauce which had a hint of sweetness that really boosted the depth of flavor. Also the standard, general tso’s chicken, big chunks of high quality chicken, sweet sauce with lots of heat, and soft on the inside crunchy on the outside. All in all a spectacular meal and a place i would recommend without hesitation to anyone.

During my recent visit to Empire Szechuan for takeout, I had a chance to try a variety of dishes including the beef lo mein, cold sesame noodles, sweet and sour chicken, spicy salmon roll, crab Rangoons, egg rolls, pork dumplings, and hot and sour soup. The food was prepared quickly, and I was impressed with the variety of options available.

The beef lo mein was a standout item for me, with well-cooked noodles and tender pieces of beef. The cold sesame noodles were also tasty and well-balanced in flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was cooked perfectly, with a nice balance of sweetness and tanginess.

The spicy salmon roll was a nice addition to my order, with fresh ingredients and a good amount of heat. The crab Rangoons, egg rolls, and pork dumplings were all cooked perfectly and had good flavor.

One unique thing about Empire Szechuan is that they offer both Chinese and Japanese cuisine, which was a pleasant surprise. It allowed me to try a wide range of dishes and experience different flavors.

I also appreciated the excellent service I received during my visit. The staff was friendly, and my food was ready in just 12 minutes after placing the order.

The only dish that was a bit lackluster for me was the hot and sour soup. It was a bit watered down and lacked the robust flavors I was expecting.

Overall, I had a positive experience at Empire Szechuan. The food was fresh, flavorful, and prepared quickly, and the staff was friendly and efficient. If you’re in the area and looking for some good Chinese and Japanese food, this is definitely a place to check out.

This is hands down my go-to spot for Chinese food! The owner is incredibly friendly and somehow always remembers my order just by my voice—talk about amazing customer service. It’s that kind of personal touch that makes this place stand out.

The food is consistently delicious and very reasonably priced. They offer all the American Chinese favorites like General Tso’s Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Lo Mein, and Crab Rangoons, all made fresh and full of flavor. On top of that, they have a full sushi menu, so there’s something for everyone.

Whether you’re craving classic Chinese takeout or a fresh sushi roll, this place never disappoints. Great food, great prices, and a welcoming atmosphere—what more could you ask for? Highly recommend giving it a try!
