WV Almost Heaven (Montani Semper Liberi)
The food was average but appropriately priced, meaning not over priced. The menu is limited to standard small town diner fare that can be had from a food delivery service such as a Sysco, etc. The service was slow, the wait staff inattentive. To explain, both waitresses were deeply engaged with locals at other tables, leaving our table ignored. The actual food was average. Note: per staff many asked for/ordered items were not in stock but “should be” arrive on the next truck delivery. We thought that statement was somewhat dubious. The one saving grace is we think this local diner might be the only food place in the town, other than the local grocery store whose deli has a limited hot food offering.

This is a good ole restaurant in a good ole x railroad town. It might be the only restaurant in town. I honestly don’t know but most of the town looks shut down. The ladies were extremely nice and the service was quick. I had liver and onions with mashed potatoes and it was all very good. The price was very reasonable. Definitely worth a stop if you are ever back those hills in West Virginia.

My husband and I were a little leery based on the outside. Our food was fabulous though. We both had cheeseburgers and fries. The burgers were wonderful- best I’ve had in a long while. The lettuce and tomatoes were crisp and fresh. Our server was efficient and friendly. I recommend this place.

Sat for 20 minutes, they seen and acknowledged me being there, but never took my order. It takes just a minute to take a order. They were not busy, maybe 5 tables were sat. Spend your money and time elsewhere, they don’t want it. Was passing through Cameron and was hungry, got better service at the gas station sandwich shop up the road.

I decided to try again at this cafe, since it’s under new ownership. I ordered a Philly Steak hoagie. Which didn’t look like a Philly Steak the cheese wasn’t melted, little to no Onions or Peppers and the Steak well don’t know what to say about that. I paid hard earned money for this food and it wasn’t worth it.

It’s always very cold in here so trying to enjoy a meal in the winter is almost impossible. Food is usually cold before it hits the table.
