It’s interesting that the owner responds to the positive reviews but not the negative ones.mhm.

My husband and I stopped into Market Tavern around 7:25 PM after getting off a long flight. I’m currently pregnant and we were simply looking for a quick, easy meal. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating from start to finish.

We waited about 5 minutes to be seated, while the group ahead of us mentioned they had already been waiting 40 minutes. When we were finally seated around 7:30 PM, the server immediately told us they were completely out of silverware and napkins but said she would bring some shortly. That never happened.

We ordered two French onion soups and two Tavern burgers — one of the most basic orders you could place. The soups didn’t arrive until around 8:00 PM. I asked for extra bread and didn’t receive it until 8:25 PM… just for bread.

During this entire time no one came back to check on us, our water glasses sat empty, and it became very clear our table had been completely forgotten.

Around 8:40 PM a man from the kitchen came out and asked if we had received our burgers yet — which we had not. Shortly after that our server came over and said she had just gone back to speak with the kitchen. At that point we had been sitting there for well over an hour waiting for two burgers.

Meanwhile, a table of eight that had been waiting earlier received their meals before we did, despite us being a table of two with an extremely simple order.

When the server finally returned, she offered a free drink which I declined because I’m pregnant. We asked for the check so we could just leave. After everything that happened, the only adjustment made was a 10% discount on the soups.

The server ran around looking for a manager, yet the manager never came to the table to address the situation. Instead we were simply handed the check and sent on our way.

An hour and fifteen minutes for two burgers, no silverware, no napkins, no water refills, and a table that was clearly forgotten. The lack of organization during service was pretty obvious.

Good, hearty portions well worth the price, a great beer selection available (especially if you try the beer flights), and knowledgeable & helpful staff make Market Tavern a place I enjoy returning to.

I’ve been to The Market Tavern a few times now, and every single visit has been a great experience. The steaks are absolutely off the hook — and that’s not something I say lightly. A lot of places just don’t know how to cook a steak properly, but this place nails it every time. Perfect temperature, great flavor, and cooked exactly the way you ask.

Tonight I ordered the beef stroganoff for takeout, and it was to die for. Seriously — crazy good. Rich, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and just the kind of comfort food you hope for but rarely get.

Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, this place delivers. Highly recommend if you’re anywhere near Flanders.

Started with the firecracker shrimp — bold, flavorful, and packed just the right amount of heat. Definitely a highlight of the meal. For the main, I went with the 45-day aged New York strip. The steak itself was rich and well-seasoned, but unfortunately it was cooked more medium than the medium rare I requested. Still enjoyable, but a bit of a miss on the doneness.

Dinner with a few of my close friends, fantastic! Great service, awesome food, fun atmosphere. Thursday night football was in full swing, so it was a bit loud. Overall it was terrific! Appetizer, entrees, dessert, and cocktails.. all were delicious! Lots of seating, the Tavern can accommodate any size party. Plenty of parking too. Stop by for a drink and/or food, you’ll be glad you did!

I stopped in very unexpectedly and ordered the Filet Mignon. Let me tell you it was very very good. With mashed potatoes and asparagus…plus I added a side of broccoli. All was really nice. Cooked perfectly with plenty of flavor, such a welcome surprise. I sat at the bar and of course the service was great.

Well this is my first time here and it won’t be my last! Great beer list, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good music playing. Aged beef? Who knew. Huge wine list…I can’t wait to go back! We had a cheese steak, and a Too Gouda to be true burger. They were delicious! Also had fried zucchini which was good. I really want to go back and try the wings and the steak. I’ll let you know because I’ll be there soon! Oysters were yummy (I was told they are $1 each on Mondays). The menu seems to have something for everyone.

the guy working the bar tn was a jerk, i asked for the price of their surfsides out of curiosity because some places are overly expensive but he said idk, walked away, and ignored me for almost ten minutes. then when i asked again he proceeded to say “well if you can’t afford it…” i was buying four of them so sue me for asking? then he proceeded to say he didn’t know off the top of his head like it was his first day on the job or something. i didn’t get service until one of the girls finally asked what i wanted. i get you’re busy but taking my order takes two seconds, i’ve worked at a bar. i never thought i’d write a review to a place but he pissed me off

Professional sandwiches. I got a “marauder melt” it had sliced prime rib and ham and some smoked Gouda cheese and an au jus sauce on the side that was super delicious. The sliced prime rib was super tender. I also had some lobster bisque which I wasn’t impressed with. Mostly just watery and broth with nothing in it , The French onion soup was pretty decent. Soups were expensive for what they were. The carrot cake was delicious. The fries that came with my sandwich were over cooked and tasteless but service was good. Lots of seating and different menu items. Large bar to hang at. I will be back to try some real dry aged steak.

God bless the waitress who took care of us tonight. We saw her running, bussing and hustling non-stop. As someone with a heavy background in this industry, I can for sure tell you they are overworking her, under staffed and under prepared. Poor thing was cracking under the pressure, we could see and hear it in her tone, everything was rushed.

The food. Had the calamari for a starter. Not bad. Gave us the wrong one under their two choices. Marinara vs the teriyaki ginger glaze. Decided in the first go, honest mistake, server was busy. Got the M&J burger for entree. For a place that wants to showboat all these dry aged steaks and finer wines, having these burgers cooked way into well done without asking us is worrisome. To top it off, the fries were not only lukewarm warm, we found a couple uncooked ones on our plate. So all in all, the price is absolutely unjustified for the food and service we received sadly.
