Unparalleled drinks, atmosphere and service. It’s a hole in the wall from the outside which somehow adds to the charm. I almost don’t want to let the secret out, but honestly they have earned every star. We have been several times, and the Flip Ship martini is my favorite, but I have yet to have a drink that I didn’t love. The espresso martini is a particular treat that a nautical bar has no right to do so well.

Great new addition to SoBo, We love the speakeasy/neighborhood intimate feel.
Loved, loved the old school turntable music.
I liked all the options for fish and the portions were great for the price and the quality was outstanding. My wife, not a sea food fan…but she loved the grilled five cheese sandwich.
The happy hour Margarita with soda was spot on. Highly recommend. Will be back again and again!

My husband and I came here for our 8th anniversary, and it was truly an extra special experience. We are huge fans of Jungle, the sister bar to Siren, and have been so excited about this South Boulder addition.

To start, the menu is really fun. It’s interesting and smart while not being overly complicated or pretentious. Don’t skip the Caesar, it’s a serious highlight of the food menu. And you can’t go wrong with tinned fish! The cocktails are reasonably priced, and at the high level that they’re made, perhaps even generously priced. My highest recommendations for cocktails would be the Pornstar Martini (not just for the name), Sea Smoke (a riff on a Japanese highball), and St. Elmo’s Fire, which I’m not sure I’m expert enough to make a comparison to anything else. The NA cocktails are also indistinguishable from their alcoholic counterparts. It’s insane.

I wish I would have taken photos of everything, but I was so immersed in the moment that it didn’t even cross my mind, but they were beautiful and so fun.

In short, do yourself a favor and go to Siren. Sit at the bar, ask the bartenders questions, and have yourself a neighborhood cocktail bar experience. You won’t regret it.

The Siren is the neighborhood bar you’ve always wished was right down the street and now IS… I can’t say enough just how excited and grateful I am for this blessing! The staff I met on a recent Wednesday evening were: MoJo (Yoav), Host, (and one of the Proprietors, with ownership/ association to the downtown bar “The Jungle”), Allie, Bartender, Sadie, Bartender, and Quinn, bartender. All were excellent, extremely competent, and are now among my cherished friends. I had heard this place was an actual “Cocktail Bar,” and having been spoiled by living 10 years in Tokyo, (20 total in Japan, a veritable Bar Paradise), and by global travels and extensive drinking expeditions around the world everywhere except Antarctica, I am sometimes frustrated by the lack of such experiences to be had in this otherwise legit ‘Party Town’ of Boulder. I thus had perhaps unfairly high expectations, and yet, I was not disappointed! I am in fact happy to report that the House Martini that Allie made for me was among the smoothest and strongest I’ve ever had. It paired perfectly with the salty and savory flavors of the excellent Caviar Slider from the Happy Hour Menu. Brian, seated near me at the bar, saw and heard, and had a House Martini too, and he agreed. Superb! But what about more exotic drinks? I’m Irish, and I can’t help myself; I want them all! I tell you, sometimes there is nothing like a good caipirinha! I was served the indignity of a frickin’ substandard mojito when I asked for a caipirinha at Rosetta Hall a year or so ago. At the bar in St. Julien, I was informed, “We don’t have the materials to make that drink here.” Those precious souls I used to trust to make them for me at BarTaco are long gone. I wondered if it’s a complete waste of time to even ask for such delight around here these days. Well, I’d been lucky so far, and decided to gamble. The caipirinha that Sadie presented to me not only pleased my palate but freaked out and hooked my new friend, Brian. Well done! In my Universe, there is yet another litmus test for any legit Cocktail Bar, and I was ready to administer it. The MaiTai I tasked Sadie to make for me made me feel like I was back in Kona — the Drinking Town with a Fishing Problem where that amazing Reality Pause was invented — and where no less than a tankerful of them helped me get over my divorce. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich at The Siren is an exquisite treat that will trip you out with the lingering magic taste of caramelized onion jam. On tap, as the affable Quinn proved, they have a nice selection of local beers, but I was particularly pleased by the Upslope Japanese Rice Lager, which tastes just like the delectable and refreshing Kirin beer I drank in Nanao in the remote Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa from 1993-2000. I’m going back to The Siren in a couple of days for more adventure and fun. I hope I will see and talk to you there!
