Our recent family outing for nine, plus a baby, to Pas-Tina’s Italian Restaurant was met with anticipation, fueled by family recommendations. While the food itself showed glimpses of potential, several service missteps and presentation issues prevented a truly enjoyable experience.

Upon arrival, we were presented with menus, but it wasn’t until we noticed a promotion advertised on the window that our server reluctantly informed us about a discount – a piece of information that should have been proactively shared. This lack of attentive service was a recurring theme.

For my part, I ordered the linguine with asparagus, chicken, and shrimp, accompanied by a Caesar salad. The pasta dish was satisfying, but the Caesar salad’s presentation was disappointing, arriving as a messy pile on the plate. While it tasted adequate, the visual appeal was certainly lacking.

However, the most jarring issue was the bread service. Serving hard bread with frozen butter is, frankly, perplexing and a definite culinary misstep. The hardness of the bread only exacerbated the problem, making it difficult and unpleasant to eat.

Despite these frustrations, my wife and I agreed that the underlying quality of the food might be better than our initial impression suggested; a sentiment echoed by the obvious care the owner, a very polite lady, showed by visiting tables. We hope she sees this review and considers implementing some much-needed improvements.

Further highlighting the service inconsistencies, both the coffee and food deliveries became a guessing game. The waiter couldn’t distinguish between decaf and regular coffee, and the same confusion arose when serving our meals, requiring us to figure out who ordered what.

Pas-Tina’s has the potential to be a great neighborhood spot, with hints of good food being served. However, until the service is more attentive, presentations are improved, and basic elements like bread and butter are handled with more care, it’s difficult to wholeheartedly recommend. We’re willing to give them another chance, hoping the kitchen can shine without being overshadowed by these service shortcomings.

I almost forgot what’s the deal with the music there’s some commercials & some type of motivation that comes on all the time too.. please change that..

Went for dinner and it was a cute place! Lots of seating and no wait for a Saturday night. Ordered the clams oreganata and they were fishy and extremely small for nearly $20. For dinner we had the Penne Vodka and Linguine with Shrimp, Asparagus & Grilled Chicken in a Scampi Sauce. Both needed seasoning, lemon or oil olive or both. Portions were a good size at least! However they ran out of bread for the table at 7:30 which is ridiculous. Staff were attentive for the most part and the food was decent. $110 (without tip) for two people is a pretty good deal! May try it again for a dinner special or something.

My family was long-time customers of Pas-Tina’s until our experience this December. After ordering and picking up a catering-size tray of chicken francese for Christmas Eve, we were disappointed with the inconsistent quality of the chicken, which was an unusual experience for us at Pas-Tina’s. We contacted the restaurant the same evening and expressed our disappointment with the inconsistent cooking of the chicken served that evening. The person we spoke to stated that the manager would call us back, but then backtracked, invalidating our experience because they had “sold a lot of trays of chicken today and not yet had a customer complain.” A few days later, we followed up because we hadn’t received a call from the manager yet. Ultimately, they never had the courtesy to contact us. With much of our family running businesses, including restaurants, this is unacceptable and disappointing. It is unfortunate that I have to turn to posting a review on Google to be heard.

This restaurant has been in business for over 30 years and I can see why!
We ordered the Burratta to start. They also give you fresh bread. (Hot fresh bread is always a plus…) For the main, we ordered the Bow Tie Pasta w/ prosciutto, shrimp and fresh spinach in a creamy marinara sauce. (they were out of spinach last night… but that’s ok…) This Pasta was DELICIOUS!! We also ordered the Chicken Francese. AMAZING
Food was flavorful hot and fresh!
Drinks were really good too!!

While awaiting our food you could smell the garlic and food aromas in the air as plates were brought to their tables…. ☺️.

What an unexpected surprise, I’m glad I stopped in with my family.
Food was great and tasty.
Pas the owner was super courteous and warm. It was his approach that led us to have a great time.

This is a lovely restaurant gem to get a good lunch in a very casual atmosphere. The waiter was attentive and checked several times to make sure everything was okay. My friends and I enjoyed the food and we were glad to be able to sit and chat without feeling rushed. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!

I have Celiac disease, and it’s difficult to find a restaurant with good gluten free food. Pastina’s is definitely the place to go for a great meal. Pastina’s has a gluten free Chicken Marsala dish that is delicious. This restaurant also has other gluten free options which I’ve had, that are equally as delicious.

The food at Pastinas is very good and they give large portions. Everyone loved their food. I was impressed with the large raviolis that was cooked with red peppers. We enjoyed the early bird special which was only $25 each and you got an appetizer and a main course and coffee or tea.

A CROWN JEWEL IN WESTCHESTER. A SPECTACULAR WHOLESOME FAMILY OWNED RESTAURANT LOCATED IN THE HEART OF WESTCHESTER. PASTINAS WAS OPENED  BY TINA 28 YEARS AGO AND IS STILL THRIVING EVEN DURING COVID.
WHEN YOU ENTER THE RESTAURANT YOU  ARE GREATED BY TINA OR HER STAFF AND YOU INSTANTLY FEEL LIKE FAMILY. THE WARMTH AND SWEETNESS OF THIS WOMAN AND HER FAMILY IS AMAZING. HER RESTAURANT REMINDS ME OF BEING IN THE KITCHEN WITH MY GRANDMOTHER WHEN I WAS A KID. COOKING IS A PASSION THAT RUNS DEEP ESPECIALLY IN THIS RESTAURANT,  THE CHEF AND STAFF ALL TRUELY LOVE WHAT THEY DO.
