Got to meet Frank, the owner. He was in the kitchen. Asked him what to order and got the Mimi Meatballs, made from scratch, so good! And the Breaded Chicken Focaccia!!! Oh my gosh! SO GOOD! I don’t usually order breaded chicken but this was cooked to perfection, slightly crispy edge, with the tomatoes and balsamic and the focaccia made it perfect. The best bread of this kind I’ve ever had. Not soggy. Crisp and chewy.
You will not be disappointed with that sandwich!
Frank said almost everything is made by scratch.
And so cool, the young locals stop in for garlic knots after school. Only $.50 for a couple of them and they said they’re good.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is so good!
Story time!
We had been waiting for at least ten minutes when the manager suddenly announced after one of the staff took a phone call that wait times were over an hour. Before those of us waiting inside could worry he reassured us that our orders would come out soon, and instructed the staff how to handle future orders. He was especially involved in helping the customer while also focusing on the kitchen and making sure operations kept running smoothly. Having managed a pizza place for seven years, I was very impressed by how the team worked together while handling the stress of the day.
We are usually super cautious as I have a rare potato allergy. This experience was very transparent and pleasant. The kitchen accommodated us with no issues.
What an amazing menu. We asked the super sweet lady what she recommended. Our “snack” turned in to a Philly cheesesteak, “Mimi’s meatballs,” and some homemade provolone sticks. It was absolutely AHHHHMAZING!!! The meatballs are absolutely to die for!! 10/10 definitely recommend.
While waiting we had the opportunity to strike up a conversation with the owner. Such an incredible guy. He brought us sample cups to try his soups. The wedding soup had a deep flavor depth that just oozed experience, and authenticity.
We ended up also grabbing a 10 piece chicken strip, fries, fried dough, and took them home for the kiddos. Not a crumb was left after a few minutes. Everyone loved it.
Its rare to find a family atmosphere restaurant with such salt of the earth people. We will be utilizing this hidden gem in the near future for both a culinary treat and catering an event.
I highly recommend stopping in and taking the menu for a spin. Everything we ordered was simply delicious. Any choice will surely be a good choice 🙂
