This restaurant has the most delicious Afghani food! The food was fresh and all the meat was tender. The lamb was so soft that it fell off the bone with one pull. I would highly recommend trying this halal place out for the amazing food. I will be returning! The Qaymaq chai was also good and perfect for a cold day.

Incredible food at a family run spot. We stopped in for lunch and ordered the okra, brown rice, and ground beef kebab per the owner’s recommendation. Drank the pink chai. He gave us the eggplant and milk pudding on the house. Do not miss the eggplant!! Everything was delicious. The staff was inviting and attentive. Will be coming back later this week.

Mixed platter special was amazing! Great service. Some item quantities are small portion for a regular price. Seating area is huge. I liked the bethak style seating the corner. Nice place to have small events too.

The food was really amazing
We got the Lamb Shank Platter, Grill Combo Platter, Manto and Chicken vegetables soup
The platters were 10/10
Manto 8/10
Soup 6/10
Service could be improved, but since this is a new location and they’re still getting the hang of things I won’t complain much. The soup came last, it should’ve arrived with the appetizers.
Service 8/10
Overall great to have this Balkh location so close by, and I’ll be visiting again for sure.

Came here late around 1030 pm with little expectations. Seems they were updating the chairs but the person in the back was very hospitable. He catered to our every need and request. And the food was out of this world. The lamb melted off the bone and the rice was very tasty. 10/10 im already planning my next trip back

Fantastic and authentic Afghan food. A bit on the pricey side. But taste is great and feels extremely homemade and delicious. Their service is also great and very courteous. Baby Lamb tastes great too with slight gamey taste. Malai tea was extremely good. Uzbeki rice was phenomenal. Samosas were good. Meat was super tender and juicy. Would absolutely recommend anyone looking for authentic and great Afghan food. 105 dollars for 3 to 4 people approximately.

Absolutely amazing Afghan food! The lamb shank was tender and full of flavor, the rice was perfectly cooked with just the right touch of spices, and the carrots and raisins added a beautiful sweetness. The kababs were juicy and grilled to perfection. You can really taste the authenticity in every bite. The portion was huge and worth every penny. Friendly service and cozy atmosphere too — I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

Came by and asked for Kabli Pulao. It was served with a lamb shank, which surprised me because the Afghan pulaos I’ve had elsewhere have been cooked with smaller pieces. Nonetheless, it was a good portion and a decent dish overall – I’d order it again. Although the lamb could’ve been seasoned a bit more.
On a different note, the chairs were quite uncomfortable and I struggled to find a chair that I could sit on comfortably. I’ll stop by if I’m in the area and in the mood for Afghan, but probably wouldn’t drive in just for it.

I just want to preface this review by saying I am a female white American. I have never in my life had Afghani food. I came across this place while looking for food in the valley Stream area. Once I started reading the menu I became very intrigued. The dishes all sounded so good. I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Qaw lamb meat platter. The guy working at the register was very welcoming and kind. The chef brought my food out told me to enjoy and asked me to let them know how the food was. It was delicious. The meat was fall apart tender. The rice was perfectly seasoned and the raisins added the perfect sweetness. I was so pleasantly surprised. I think I expected the food to be heavily seasoned with middle eastern spices I am not familiar with l, but instead it was perfectly seasoned while allowing the meat and rice itself to be the star of the show. It also came with two sauces (one yogurt sauce and a green sauce I am unfamiliar with), both of which were very good. I called back to let them know they now have a new customer for life. They were very pleased and thankful. Give this place a shot! If you’re unsure what to get, just ask them and they will happily guide you! I will be back sooner rather than later!
I wish I had taken photos but the food was gone not long after we opened it lol it was so good!

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. I ordered pink tea, samosa, and lamb over rice, and none of it was fresh. The tea had spoiled milk and smelled bad, the samosa was stinking, and the lamb over rice tasted old. I paid $37 for food I couldn’t even eat. When I mentioned it, the staff were rude and dismissive. Definitely not worth the money or visit.
I warn other customers to stay away from this place.
I live next to it and i never see this Restaurant busy.
