The food was pretty spanking good, but I fear that it could have been better had we ordered the deep dish. We just weren’t that hungry, but needed to feed the little ones. The layout of the place is a bit awkward if you have got a stroller or such since the front door immediately goes up a few sets of stairs, but aside from that there was the heat. The restaurant ran a bit warm, but it could have just been because of the heater outside. The place seemed to be a family magnet as there were tons of kiddos inside. Gotta go back and check out the deep dish next time around~

Food was just fine. Nothing exceptional, but fine. Don’t expect anything better than a TV dinner. Scaled with the price proportionally, which is a rarity in the Mission area of SJC.
The atmosphere however is very lacking (extremely loud), and the service barely makes up for it, as they themselves get too rambunctious to be considered polite. Additionally, several front desk workers gazed expectantly at my girlfriend and I numerous times as we were waiting to be seated, but despite our body language heavily insinuating that we ready to be seated, we received not so much as a “we’ll be right with you, thank you.” Just blank stares. There was one lady however that was very friendly, so we appreciated the respectful demeanor.
Unfortunately, our waitress was not so kind. She acted nice but the way she glared at us and other patrons was condescending and offensive. We were barely done with our food and she rudely slapped a payment tray onto our table without asking us if we were done.
In addition to not feeling very welcome, the food was poor to just okay. By the second slice I could tell the crust was reheated and was so appalled I could not finish it.
Overall Selma’s is definitely not a place I’d recommend for good food, and definitely don’t expect the service to be so cordial.

Guys, I dunno what to tell ya… even when they are having a bad or off day, this place is still the spot to go. They never disappoint. 6 of us went in last night around 7:00 PM and it appeared there was only one person serving the floor and one bartender serving the bar area. Our server, Leslie C, did not make it even seem that way. She took great care of us and was keeping us informed along the way as well. I have a lot of health concerns and they were very helpful, knowledgeable, and kind about it. More servers like her. She deserves a raise, y’all!

Took the train from san diego to get lunch. The Chicago pizza was tasty and has really good sauce. We got a medium pepperoni and it was almost too much food but we finished it. We’ll be back!

Glad I stopped in. Hidden gem with GREAT Chicago Style pizza (they use some top quality cheese and marinara sauce on top a well balanced crust). Comfortable outdoor seating and atmosphere. Service is very responsive. Would definitely eat here again. And did I mention it is very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality!

Gotta rave about this restaurant.
I have been trying to find good Chicago style deep dish pizza in California for 23 years and found it here, quite by accident.
My Wife and I both are originally from Chicago, and we are very familiar with what makes a good, no, great deep dish pizza. This place got it right!
We split a small size, with only Italian sausage (good quality sausage too), we started off with the regular size Italian chopped salad. This was plenty of food for us both and probably too much for a couple of average eaters.
The staff was courteous and helpful, very professional. The restaurant was clean and very pleasant, with windows open to the sidewalk and an outdoor patio. There is a full bar which features a happy hour menu. The restrooms were well maintained, clean and fully stocked. Service was quick.
The price for all this was not bad either! We had two iced teas as well, and the bill, with tax, came out to just $36.96! About what you would pay for a couple of burgers in a casual dining restaurant.
All in all, I, we highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back again.

The sausage had fennel and slightly spicy and was the same sausage you would get in Chicago. Normally Chicago pizza has the toppings underneath the cheese and it’s cut into squares though not triangles. They use a butter crust that had a nice depth of flavor so it was probably fermented a day or so. Usually you need to have the dough rise on its own to get that flavor.
However having the veggies on top kept the crust nice and crispy on the bottom. Def will be trying the deep dish next time.

Good pizza with good beer selection. We always order the deep dish pizza and it never disappoints. We ordered the Hawaiian specialty pizza and it was good but the pineapple chunks were too big. My husband ordered the hot pizza and it was perfect. We did order the potato chips but they were not as crispy this time around and they were really greasy. I will still order them again because I know they are good they were just off a little. The only odd thing that happens was that we ordered coffee and it was cold… when we told the waitress she said she would brew a new pot for us. Someone must have turned off the coffee pot by mistake.

Really good pizza. The deep dish is excellent. The sampler appetizer is also quite good. We really liked the toasted raviolis and the fried cheese. They were a little short-staffed in the kitchen so the appetizer came out a little slow, but they comped us for it. We will definitely come back.

I reserved the private room at SJC for my son’s rehearsal dinner (Nov 2023) and couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience. From reserving the room, to picking the food, to help with my set-up, the staff..everything was on point. Great people. Very reasonably priced and food was delicious! I highly recommend them.
