The old cliche of business ownership is that the 3 most important things are Location, Location, Location. That may be debatable now, with online companies eating Brick and Mortar store’s lunch. But it will always be true in the food/restaurant business. The view of the Northern Bay is both breathtaking and incredibly serine. I felt very peaceful and relaxed, waiting for my food, eating it and after. I really didn’t want to leave. (And they have plenty of space and tables). Here’s a few other reasons I gave Bayview 5 stars:
The staff were helpful and friendly, offering plenty of suggestions when I asked for recommendations. In this fast food driven world of fast customer service that was as refreshing as views behind the Takeout.
The business is very community minded, which always is a bonus.
I had a steak and cheese sandwich, which was pretty good. My seafood tester had a lobster roll, which she said was “the best she had all summer” (of course, there’s still more summer and LOTS more reviews to do…) but you get the point. We also got chicken nuggets/fries and ice cream after. All of it was very good.
I noticed there was a smoker out back, as we did not try anything that would require smoking, I do plan on returning soon and trying more of their very large menu.

Great little take out window restaurant. We had just gotten to castine Maine and tried to find a place close by to grab a quick bite. Food was hot and good, quick service. If it’s a nice day out or even a foggy evening like we had, you can walk out back behind the building and theres a nice little field overlooking the water.
