I should’ve seen the warning signs. My party of 3 waited in the lobby for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and sat us.
Another 10 minutes before anyone came to our booth to ask us if we wanted something to drink. Once our drinks came out to us 10 minutes later (a Pepsi, coffee and a water) were we given chips and salsa. 20 minutes later when our food was delivered (bowl of menudo, caldo de res and an arroz) we asked for refills on the water, coffee and the chips. 15 minutes later, I asked a different waitress for the refills again because we hadn’t received them. When I asked for the check the waitress brought out a coffee and refilled my water. Still no chips.
In a time when restaurants should be providing quality service and showing their customers that they care so that they return, the staff that helped us tonight at Señor Campos did not care. Those that read this review spend your money elsewhere.
*forgot to originally include the fact that their bathrooms were out of service to top it all off
As for the fish tacos, they were even worse. The battered white fish was soggy, sitting on a cold tortilla with some lettuce and shredded, pre-packaged cheese yes, cheese on a fish taco! But the real kicker? No sauce! It was incredibly dry and the fish didn’t taste like anything literally nothing. The rice was fine nothing special. To make matters worse, I ended up with salmonella (I’m talking a full week of sickness). I’m not being harsh here. I have no reason to lie, and I’d strongly advise anyone to avoid this place at all costs or eat here at your own risk!!
The staff were older ladies who were nice and friendly but slower than molasses. The lady took our drink order, but we didn’t get our drinks until the ifood cane. Seriously, drinks should not take that long.
Prices are extremely reasonable, and it was appreciated, especially now since every other restaurant has jacked up their prices for unnecessary reasons.
I will be back and give it another go in hopes that the service and food taste get better ţo the days I remember.
Service: Place has a Spanish feel to it. Servers wear traditional Mexican clothing. Quick and fast service.
Last Thought: One of the better places to get Mexican food in La Habra. Better than El.Cholo!
So my family and I went out to eat here on NOV 15th and they sat us and a few others in someone’s wedding (actually in the reserved wedding tables with themed centerpieces) I felt so bad as we were eating because we were totally intruding on the guests. And I know we were intruding because I couldn’t help but overhear that they were supposed to close off the section to only the wedding by many frustrated wedding guests who didn’t have a place to sit. It was uncomfortable and I just feel terrible for the couple. Nobody wants that when they choose a venue.
