Ordered the carne asada taco salad. The portions were generous, but there was uneven distribution of the food throughout the taco shell. There are refried beans at the very bottom of the taco shell, on the top right was most of the carne asada and the rest had an abundance of shredded lettuce. The refried beans had an off taste to them and the carne asada tasted over salted with plenty of pellejos. Overall not bad if you’re hungry, but probably won’t choose this item again.

Lunch time, my friend and I stopped by, it was conveniently located.
I ordered the taco salad with ground beef. My friend ordered chicken fajitas.
Our food was very good. We were both so hungry I forgot to take pictures.
They also have a full bar for any day drinkers.
We will certainly be back very soon as the food was exceptional.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. The restaurant has maintained the same location, but it’s changed names throughout the years. Recently, the quality of food and service has declined. Everything I ordered this last time around tasted like leftover buffet food and was salty. I also heard staff in the kitchen coughing.

WTF ISthis

Giving 4 stars because my burrito was soggy. See the picture. I got the muscle burrito. The tortilla is moist and was dripping. But still the flavor is real good and the service was impeccable. Would return and try another item

Another amazing place we just happened to find. Stopped for lunch in Bakersfield on our way back to Arizona. We pulled into the shopping plaza that had several restaurants to choose from, and we decided to try El Capitan. Great service and great food. I ordered the combo plater with a cheese and onion enchilada and taco. It also came with rice and beans. I am very picky when it comes to enchilada sauce, and their’s was perfect. Hubby ordered the stuffed quesadilla that included asada, cheese, fries, and guacamole. It was so stuffed that he could only eat half, and it was very delicious.

Not usually super busy, the food is good. Sometimes the carnitas are dry. The Arroz con Pollo is fantastic.

The waiststaff is the absolute best, they’re all incredibly friendly and kind.
