So excited to find Cybel in the neighborhood when a friend who had just come back from Morocco wanted to meet up for Moroccan food! The lemon chicken tagine, sampler appetizer, and pistachio bread pudding were delicious! Video of friend with her Moroccan souvenir in the coziest ambience for dinner. We liked it so much we met old neighbor friends for a yummy brunch of shakshuka and pistachio lattes. They had a Moroccan football game on Sunday, which was a fun atmosphere. The Historic Kenwood location made it walkable from where we were staying! Reservations are recommended, it’s pretty popular.

Wow… just wow! I saw the “50 Best Restaurants” accolade when we walked up and wondered if Cybel would live up to the hype. It absolutely smashed it!
We had the Lamb Chops, Chicken Shawarma Platter, and the Lemon Chicken Tagine.
The lamb chops may very well have been the best I’ve had anywhere in the US. They were perfectly seasoned, cooked, and presented. I don’t use the word exquisite often to describe food, but the lamb was indeed exquisite.
The chicken shawarma was cooked to perfection, paired with the garlic yogurt sauce and rice, creating a flavor profile that was truly unmatched. The salad brought the entire dish together marrying all the flavors together.
The lemon chicken tagine was probably the most traditional dish we ate, and it was falling off the bone. It wasn’t my favorite dish, but it was worth it to expand the palate.
The service was also exceptional. I love the fact that it’s family-operated and you can tell that a lot of care is put into the place.
Everything we ate was SO good and SO worth it. Don’t hesitate coming here, just do it.
PS – for our food allergen folks, this place is mostly gluten free already, but they accommodated almost everything from swapping pita for veggies and fries for extra rice.

Went to this hidden gem after seeing great reviews on social media and it sure did not disappoint. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very friendly server who sat us immediately as we had reservation. The restaurant is small, reservations are recommended if going during busy times. I ordered the “French Taco” which is shaped like a burrito and it was incredibly delicious. You have a choice of protein and I got the chicken shawarma. Then you choose the sauces, fillings (lettuce, tomato, onions, sumac onions, pickles, coleslaw) and fries (regular or crispy). All are wrapped in a huge looking burrito. A friend ordered the chicken shawarma platter that came with tender delicious chicken, yellow rice and salad. Everyone enjoyed their meal very much.
Tip: they do not serve wine however, you can bring a bottle of your own and will be charged a )$10 fee…. Not bad for bringing your favorite wine to drink with your amazing French Moroccan Fusion meal.
Highly recommend and we will definitely be back

I have dined at Cybel a couple of times before. The food was tasty, but the wait very long. I can deal with that. Yesterday I decided to order take out. To my surprise the quality and quantity was unacceptable, the salad was wilted, 4 meager ounces of rice per order. For $52 dollars dinner for two it is unacceptable. I called several times to speak with the manager, not only you can’t get anyone on the line ever, but no one responded to my messages. Beyond disappointed and won’t be going back. Very poorly run place!

I cannot explain how tender and flavorful the lamb tagine and their other menu items are. Fresh, delicious and always perfect. Just unique and exceptionally delicious food. Highly recommend a reservation as word spreads.

The food is great especially the Falafel. Quantity wise it’s too much to eat for a single person and will end up as takeaway.
The place is way too small for the huge crowd and sitting inside is not recommended. The ventilation is not strong enough and you will return home with smelly clothes.

Came here craving some Mediterranean food and it did not disappoint. The falafel was fried very well, not left super dry. The entree platters were both good, with the beef kabob excelling. Great cut of meat, super tender and with a ton of flavor, and juicy. The chicken shawarma was good, but the beef kabob definitely blew it out of the park. Paired with a refreshing salad, and the side of rice was also good. Would come back for a date night.

I had been looking forward to coming to Cybel for some time, I absolutely love food from all around the Mediterranean region. I was absolutely delighted by my meal. I had the falafel to start, it was beautifully crispy and seasoned well. The garlic sauce was very good, could use a little more garlic pop (that allicin bite). I then had the French Tacos, stuffed with chicken shawarma, garlic pomegranate and tzatziki sauce, side of Pete’s Sauce, and all the veggies. I was presented with a massive, “good days of chipotle”, overstuffed wrap, double wrapped in parchment and aluminum foil. It was DELICIOUS. So good across the board. My ONLY critique is that the structural integrity of the wrap falls apart the moment you remove more than about half of the wrapping materials. Had to break out the fork to finish the last bit of both half’s. Perhaps a wider tortilla wrapped thinner (for a longer shape) would help? Or not cutting in half? I don’t know. This is a MINOR nitpick!
What I do know is that I will be coming back. And the pistachio cheesecake is DIVINE.

Our dinner was wonderful. We enjoyed Labneh, Lamb Tagine and Chicken Schwarma. The Tagine sauce was beautifully flavored with Moroccan spices. Make sure you add some rice, its a great way to sop up all the yummy sauce. The lamb was super tender. My favorite was the lemon infused olive oil used in the labneh. The restaurant does not serve any alcohol, but does allow you to bring beer or wine with a corkage fee of $20. There is indoor and outdoor dining.
Sorry for the photos, we got so excited when we saw the food, we forgot to let the camera eat first.

Great little spot on 5th. The food and service were both excellent. Being your own wine, no corkage fee. I really enjoyed the chicken shawarma and the egg roll appetizer. The homemade desserts were a nice finish especially the chocolate cheesecake. The staff was lovely, we wish them all the success!
