Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs!

My first indication to exit the restaurant was that there was no one in the restaurant, including the restaurant staff that did not eat the food. I have visited this restaurant before in the past and figured I might give it a try again for Friday night. What a mistake!

The food was simply disgusting. The smell emanating from my plate was something I had never encountered before. It was nauseating and off-putting, I immediately lost my appetite. To make matters worse, there was a slimy substance oozing from the side of the sushi. It was absolutely repulsive.

When the host asked me if everything was okay, I couldn’t hold back my disappointment. I told her that the food looked and smelled disgusting. Instead of addressing the issue, she had the audacity to ask me if I had ever eaten sushi before. I took a deep breath, trying to maintain my composure, and replied that the smell alone was enough to make me lose my appetite. Her response was dismissive and unprofessional, implying that I should have tried the food before judging it.

Needless to say, we paid for the food and left immediately. This place is a complete disaster and needs to be shut down. I strongly advise against wasting your time and money here. There are far better sushi restaurants in town that actually value their customers and serve quality food. Unfit for human consumption.

A refreshing experience after having awful experiences at a different restaurants down the street. Beef sliders was 90% good with one section that was not that chewy so it required thin slices with the knife. Sandra the server/bartender was very nice and thoughtful throughout.

The food was good the first time I went there. And the staff was good as well as the music.
I sat outside had a wonderful time. However, I go back about 3 weeks later and I take five friends and it’s a 360-degree difference. The wait staff was awful, the service, and the sangria.
We had the blue sangria first to try it and it tastes a little bit too strong but it had 3 pieces of fruit and a lot of ice.
I asked for another sangria later because the food was still good and it’s pictured here.
But the red sangria was ordered and brought out and was totally awful! It tastes like a juice out of 7-Eleven. The bartender did try to make up for it by offering us bottom shelf shots.
Try it, maybe your opinion will be different from mine and maybe your service too.
I don’t know if I’ll be back ever return.

We went in for my husband’s birthday on a Sunday when it wasn’t too busy and we really enjoyed our quiet dinner. We didn’t get to try the sushi nonetheless our steak dinner was delicious. Our severer was friendly and very patient with us explaining the menu to us as it was our first time there. Definitely would be returning!!!

Confused… Is this a Spanish/Portuguese Tapas OR Japanese Sushi place?
Since they have no Sake or Sapporo beer or any Japanese beer available, I ordered a half pitcher of red sangria that was good, perhaps a little sweet (also available in white but blue/green?). I found the Tapas selections a bit limited. Blue/white Potato chips, Sweet potato fries, sake chorizo and 3 shrimp selections. Hmmm…
So I ordered the fried dumplings which were delicious & enjoyably very crispy. And the Sushi Tower, while not exactly a “tower as in multi level presentation but a formed layered presentation” it was delicious. Now I’m craving some sake. Wait…if they have Sake Chorizo, why not Sake behind the bar? Curious is that they have eel sauce as a side sauce but no eel on the menu?
So if I’m craving sushi, I’ll be back to explore cuz there aren’t alot of Sushi places in the Ironbound. But please stock some Sake or Sapporo beer.

Im glad this place was open, I had family in town looking for sushi all over Ironbound and all sushi spots in Ironbound, were closed on Monday. I’m glad this was just over the bridge and the sushi was delicious! They were quick to prepare the food, unfortunately the Harrison parking enforcement was a little quicker, I forgot to pay for parking and I received a ticket within 5 minutes of parking however in the end it was somewhat worth it, because this restaurant didn’t disappoint! Be prepared to look and pay for parking when visiting this space.

1 star because this place took an hour to make our food, we had to wait for water over 20 minutes and they never refilled it until we asked for a check (weird) The food was alright (had a better tasting sushi) The special roll was definitely not worth its price. My miso soup never arrived even after asking for it multiple times (miso soups shouldn’t take long to make) Would not be coming back here for sure.

Amazing Pizza, good prices on drinks, the sushi is good too, but the pizza definitely is amongst the best in the city.

If you asked me how much I loved this place three years ago I would have said 5 stars. Since then it has seemed to lose it’s luster. It’s Friday night and the place is empty. The seats were flithy, old, stained and dingy. I wanted to request another seat but noticed all the seats were like that. I’m a bit of a neat freak so that might not bother someone else.

The service was ok, there was only one hostess, waitress and bartender–she was the same person. With three tables and one at the bar it was a lot to handle so there was no checking in and we had to request assistance for everything. Not her fault but what kind of annoying.

The three stars is for the food, always wonderful. If they could refresh the look and clean up and organize the staff a bit more it would be back to normal.

While trying to enjoy this interpretation of Japanese cuisine, I kept having to swat away the flies while ensuring not to hit my glass with a plastic straw in it.

I mentioned the flies to the bartender and he suggested that I move tables. You can’t expect all of the tables to be free of flies! Apperently there was “nothing” he could do about it.

After I killed one of them (impossible?) and wiped my hands, I had to ask for a new napkin, which was interpreted as a favour for me. The bartender seemed to think he was being attentive for quickly letting me decontaminate myself after cleaning his bar for him.

It’s a shame that no Japanese beer was available. I was never shown a wine menu, so idk if there was any sake.
