The drive thru is AI. At first I was thrown by the robotics like voice. I ordered and even asked questions about the Big Box deal and dipping sauce choices. The AI answered seamlessly. The AI asked me to verify my order on the digital board, everything was correct. But what was packed in the bag was not what I ordered and paid for. They forgot one of the sides. Ugh.
It wasn’t a particularly large order either, just two Big Box meals. Oh well… chalking it up to human error. But someone should be checking the order. The food came out hot. Everything was securely and neatly packed. We were given utensils, condiments, and napkins.
The latest deal… Big Box is two pieces of chicken or three piece tender strips with two sides and a biscuit for $6.99. I didn’t ask for any particular chicken cuts. I got a wing and a breast in classic flavor. It was delicious. Juicy, tender chicken in that classic spiced crunchy coating.

I love Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen’s chickens. They have the best friend chicken in town.
This Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is very fast and counts the chickens accurately. I ordered 16 pieces. I get 16 pieces. Sometimes even 1-2 pieces more. Some locations always miscount the quantity!
The fried chicken is very delicious. It is crispy outside and juicy inside. I like the mashed potato and gravy too! It is yummy! There is no waiting today at all.

Food order went fine, was attended by a nice gentleman, I had a small issue with the order that I wouldn’t think would be a problem so I went up the the counter only to see (after asking for a name) a manager named “Ulises” handling sandwiches with his bare hands, needless to say i was grossed out and when i brought it up he simply got angry and left without even trying to talk. Extremely disrespectful and gross, should be fired immediately.

update: I’m editing my review. We decided to give it another try because it is the closest one to us. The second time, the order was correct and the food was fresh. Therefore, we’ve been back a few more times. We’ve gotten used to the robot taking our order and the robot isn’t that bad if you come prepared and already know what you want. I’m chaing my stars from 2 to 4.
Ordering at the drive-thru is not a fun experience, gave me and my daughter both anxiety because we had never been here before and didn’t know there would be a robot taking our order and then to top it off they got the order wrong even after we confirmed it with a real person at the drive-thru window. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here ever

Finally! Elk Grove has its first Popeyes. Just like most Popeyes, there is a bit of a wait. But it’s worth it. Our food was still hot by the time we got home, and you can it was fresh. The chicken was juicy and the biscuits were soft. I would say check your order before you leave and avoid the bathrooms. It was the end of the day… and they served us after closing, but it was good. And I agree with the other guy, MAC N Chese a bit runny

I would normally give a 1 star for such a bad experience but im adding another star for the politeness of the staff and the only thing good about my experience.
This was by far the worst fried chicken place I’ve ever been to. The pieces were sooo small and there’s probably more skin n fried batter than actual meat.
The biscuits are so dull with no fluff. Its my belief someone who’s never made biscuits at home could do better.
There was one container of mash potatoes with a scoop of gravy that barely feeds 2 people (ordered an 8 pc meal). and I don’t think you can consider what they serve as cole slaw..
Everyone has their own opinion and this is just MY review and I usually will go back to a place a 2nd time to make sure my poor review is legit but I can’t go back..its not worth it.
Spend a little more and go see the colonel..its overpriced but at least you’ll enjoy everything and get more for yer money
