Food was delicious, staff was friendly, and prices are definitely fair. We got a good meal for two with tip for $40. We arrived about 45 minutes before close but didn’t feel rushed and everything was fresh and tasty. The flavors in the Hunan chicken and the “mixed” lo mein bowl were very good! Happy to have found this while in tahn for the game.

Went a couple months ago and forgot to write a review about just how authentic and lovely the restaurant was. The owners are amazing and so sweet, they prepare everything so well. We took my parents from out of town and they loved it. We all got a mixture of everything and all the dishes were top notch. Highly recommend if you want delicious food!

Incredible food. Best Nepali food I ever had. Excited to try more food from them. And a mango lassi for dessert is a great way to end the meal.

This is a hidden gem. Limited table space tastefully appointed. Perhaps they do a lot of take out business but dining in was comfortable and welcoming. Absolutely delicious food! I had hot and sour soup (delicious) and Indian Goat Curry (also delicious). My dad had Nepali Goat Thali (also delicious! And all sides delightful, attention to detail is not lacking!).
We went back on Labor Day, I enjoyed Chicken Thali (I repeat myself, but also delicious!). Dad had Bhutanese Mixed Datsi (a delightful Himalayan potatoes au gratin).
Would highly recommend! Whenever I am back here I will seek out Subba. Cheers!

Boy this place was a disappointment. First of all, google map pics projects a fine dining vibe which it isn’t. In fact you’re supposed to find your own seat. Then a gentleman who seemingly didn’t want to utter Nepali words came to take our orders. We ordered a few varieties and they were very subpar. We brought our neighbors out for Nepali food since the reviews were decent. It was a huge disappointment from the moment we stepped in.

The food was extremely good. I believe nearly everything we ordered (Fried Momo, Chicken Datsi, Lamb Thali) seemed to have had some curry in it and it was the best, most unique food I have had in a long time. Portions were small for the price but the food was excellent. I would recommend trying the chicken or beef in the Thali as the lamb was not as tender as beef usually is and the chicken was excellent in the Datsi so I imagine either would leave one with a slightly better experience than the lamb. It was not disappointing enough to me to drop any stars off the review but I just thought others might like to know.

People are sleeping on this place! The momos and thalis are phenomenal! Put that momo sauce on everything I eat from now on please.

Been a long-time patron of Subba. This is the best Asian restaurant on the Northside–one of the best in the city. I’m so happy about their new location. They finally have a space that lives up to their amazing food.
Everything we’ve had here is phenomenal, but the Momo and Lo mein are two of our favorites. The Nepali plates are also delicious with unique spices that are packed with flavor. You won’t find anything like it elsewhere.

Amazingly delicious food. If you haven’t stopped in here make an excuse to do so. The food is outstanding. The service was excellent and the atmosphere quaint and cozy. Our waiter was awesome. I can’t say enough about how exceptional the food was! Perfectly presented and prepared to order! Well worth the money. Many different types of specialty foods you probably haven’t tried before! Thank you!

What an awesome spot. Pretty hidden away and easy to miss, but it seems that many of the best spots are hole in the wall. They have a very diverse menu that includes Bhutanese, Nepalese, Indian, and Chinese food. I got to try out their dal with rice, kheer, and mango lassi.
Wow. Everything was just so, so good. Great portions too. The dal with rice was perfectly spiced. It had that very nice home cooking touch to it that I just can’t quite describe. But very very good. And cheap too!
The mango lassi was very good too. Again, such an amazing portion for a pretty reasonable price. It was a tad too orange looking when I initially saw it, but the flavor was quite good, so no problems there. Definitely hit the spot and would be a must get if you order a very spicy dish (the dal wasn’t excessively spicy). Looked a bit too watery at first, but once you stir it, you see the whole dal kernels, and they are amazing.
The kheer…wow. The portion for this was absolutely huge. And it was still nice and warm when I got it! Not the most flavorful perhaps (some raisins would be an amazing add on), but still very creamy and delicious. Amazing.
All in all, I’m so glad I finally got to try this place out. I’ve been wanting to go for upwards of 3 years now, and I finally did. Would love to come back and order everything I ordered plus the momo and Bhutanese food.
