I’ve hit this place at least a half of dozen times out of convenience because it is right across the street from a place where I end up doing a lot of work. This is pretty much what you would expect to find in a small area like Dakota Dunes (being a town of only about 2800 people). So, if you’ve been to a small town bar/restaurant, that’s pretty much the feel of Grahams. It is in a pretty good location right off the interstate so it makes getting to it very easy without having to venture too far from I-29 or contend with Sioux City traffic.
I’ve tried several dishes here, including a chicken cesar salad just yesterday which I didn’t think to take a picture of (looked pretty much how you’d expect). I’ve never had a bad meal here. Everything is pretty good. It’s nothing extravagant or exiting but it has more of a homemade feel to it which definitely has its merits too.
Pictured I have a prime rib sandwich. Flavors were ok, steak I usually like to have medium rare, this was medium well so cooked more than I would have liked. The steak could have used a touch more salt but the au jus was really good so that really saved it. The other picture is a Ruben. That was actually pretty darn good! I do love me a good Ruben! Great flavors on that one and if you love sauerkraut like I do, they were pretty generous with that which is awesome!
Service isn’t bad but not great either. It’s pretty good considering how few people run the front of the house but sometimes it takes a little while to get a drink refill. It stays fairly busy but not overly busy, usually pretty easy to grab a table for lunch.
If you’re looking for a home cooked meal type menu, or that hometown bar feel, I do recommend. While it might not be anything to write home about, this is a great place for some good hardy food.
**UPDATE**
Had the Cajun Bleu burger today… I love blue cheese and blue cheese crumbles but this was overly bleu… very bitter. I don’t want to say that the crumbles went bad because that’s a big accusation but it kinda tasted like it did. This was the first menu item I’ve had out of several that I did not care for. I will still go back again but I will not be ordering that and do not recommend.

I had the French Dip and it was great. The sliced meat was perfectly cooked and the au jus was very good, just the right amount of spices.
The tall cold Summer Shandy hit the spot.
The service was excellent. Even though it was crazy busy, Shameka was running helping everyone out and was still able to check in on us.
I will return the next time I’m in the area.
Bicycling: The roads aren’t very bicycle or pedestrian friendly, come on South Dakota step up your game. On a positive note, the restaurant has an outdoor seating area.

Food was great, service & atmosphere…great. nice restaurant. Not really a pub setting. But great food and drinks. Plenty of parking. I would recommend…

Staff was very polite and friendly, Ordered the prime rib. Pretty good for a bar & grill. Prices were very modest for this day and age.

Food has definitely gone down hill from what it was. Staff was pleasant. Price have gone up tremendously from what it was. Far as there burgers go all of them are with in pennies of each other. It doesn’t matter if you get a loaded burger or a plain burger it is only cents different. But when it comes to the bill the way he does it for buy one get one half off doesn’t add up. He discounts each burger individually and puts discount under the beer. Still doesn’t add up to buy one get one half price. I asked the staff about it and they can’t do anything about it with no manager on duty. It’s only 7:30 and no manager?? What???? Wow??? But staff was going to make it right but it was out of her pocket. Again NOT right. Not her fault. Will not be back anytime soon.

Very good to go for great food! Chicken Marsalis is excellent! Only thing I don’t like is the rubber seats in the booths, too hard to get in and out of.

I went here exactly 2 times while staying for work. I had the same thing pretty much each night. The 1st night I had the absolute best ribeye steak (med rare) I have ever eaten. It was juicy and tender. I broke it with my hands it was so wonderful. I had the loaded baked potato and they had the ‘fixings’ in a cup, the butter and SC in separate cups. Th e broccoli was in big longs strips, juicy and tender and amazing. Apparently you have to ask for the steak to come from the “steak house side”. It was a great meal come true. I naturally went for the same exact order on day 2. Yes I made sure to request ‘from the steakhouse side’ to which he told me it will cost extra. I was excited. I brought it up to my room and immediately noticed no cups with the ‘fixings’ or butter or CS. It was just a little bit of everything already on the potato. OK it was actually the best part of this meal. The ribeye … wasn’t horrible by any means but I’d say 1/4th the steak I had about 24 hours ago. The broccoli was surprising. It had yellow spots on it which if you know anything about broccoli that means it is VERY old. I tried a couple bites and it was very tough and I didn’t even eat it. I had to take the best (middle) pieces out of the steak and throw away the outer edge and thinner edges were overdone and somewhat dry. I would have give them 1 star but I guess they got it right 1 out of 2 times anyway so I guess good luck. Needless to say I was very disappointed in that last meal before going home.

Good place for nachos. Beer selection isn’t the best. Not the cleanest place in town but I’m not afraid to stop there. Nachos are large
