I know. I know.

Whats with the picture of an Arby’s bag and the two wrappers from Arby’s sandwiches purchased at the Arby’s on Route 4 in Chatham, IL??

Read on for the answer.

I was headed back to Springfield from a couple hours of fishing with my good friend in his boat on Otter Lake. It was just a tad past 9 PM and as I was approaching Chatham, I remembered I had a coupon for BOGO at Arby’s as part of their APPs specials for the weekend, and I could have one for my supper (as I had given one of my McDonald’s “Golden” chicken wraps to my fishing host earlier) since I was still hungry.

Well, the APP strikes again. While not as terrible as WalMarts APP, it certainly has its own issues. Like on the same page it states that the Arby’s in Chatham was now closed, AND on that same page, it clearly states the store was open till 10 PM!!

Aye Carumba!

Anyway, I decided to share my dilemma with the store as I’m already there, and as I drive around the building I spot an employee, who happens to be a managers there, and show her my APP. She is aware of the issue and offered to honor the deal.

Now that’s how companies and supervisory staff “should” act but all to seldom do. I pulled up to the window and ordered exactly what I was going to via the “Arby’s APP” and they honored the deal!

I ordered a French Dip Roast Beef and Swiss and their new sandwich, the Loaded Itallian. I was only going to eat the Dip, and maybe take a bite of the Itallian (that sounds so wrong) BUT unfortunately (or fortunately) after I took the one bite, I couldn’t help myself, and finished the entire Itallian – it was that good!

I can’t say much about the Dip as its oh, so.good in its own right, that one expects that. But that Loaded Itallian (with everything BUT NO ONIONS on it) was memorable.

And why the pictures of an empty bag and two empty sandwich wrappers? Simple. I couldn’t put the sandwiches down long enough to take their picture, they were so darn good!!!

There is an Arby’s in this town, you’ve driven past it, you’ve seen it, and you’ve wondered, and inside its walls exists a reality only loosely tethered to our own. I entered at 6:00 PM on a weekday, peak dinner hour by all known laws of mankind, and yet the dining room was a vast and echoing tundra of empty booths. The soda fountain hissed softly, as though whispering secrets to no one. A lone curly fry sat abandoned under a table, like a fossil from a forgotten civilization.

The staff greeted me with a warmth so immediate and sincere it felt rehearsed, like actors preparing for a play whose audience never arrives. Their smiles were just a fraction too wide, their politeness almost operatic. I half-expected someone to lean in and ask if I was finally here to awaken the others. Still, they handed me my roast beef sandwich with ritualistic reverence, as if bestowing a relic.

No music played. No fryer beeped. No other customer entered. I ate in silence, the ice machine buzzing like distant insects, every bite echoing in the hollow chamber of this meat cathedral. Outside, cars streamed past on the highway, but none turned in. None ever turn in. This place stands as a monument to mystery, a beef-scented Bermuda Triangle where diners vanish or perhaps are simply never permitted to exist in the first place.

And yet, the sandwich was good. Hauntingly good. Suspiciously good. As though in the absence of other patrons, all of reality’s remaining flavor was concentrated into this single meal.

Five stars? No. That would imply understanding.
Three stars: one for the meat, one for the curly fries, and one for the unsettling possibility that I was the only real person in that building.

I will return.
Not because I want to.
But because I must know.

#16. A tasty looking hot ham and cheese sandwich. Layers and layers of meet with melting cheese. I get two pieces of ham and two pieces of cheese. 10 times more bread than meat. So sick of false advertising by fast food joints

Today we decided to stop in at Arby’s Chatham Illinois. We normally skip over this location because of a very horrible experience here.
Today was nice. Even though they got a small detail wrong. They did pretty good! Wish i wasnt scared so bad from the first time. Next time I think I’ll have the bacon sandwich before it’s gone.

We were here at 8pm fries and curly fries cold. Sandwiches barely warm. Girl at counter typed in wrong Sandwich. Suppose to have been a roast beef double as a meal. And 1 classic sandwich. Gave us reg fries instead of curley. So pay attention Employee’s. On both side cook and order taker.

Another fast food service place who has overpriced food, and honestly I don’t even know if it is always down or the workers don’t want to do it. But at least 70% of the time I go here because I want a milkshake and there machine is ether down or being worked on. Today I went and got told they were servicing it tonight and when I leave I just see 2 workers sitting and talking in front of the machine used for it with no tool or items to service it.

My son was given an achievement award at school for a free kids meal. Unfortunately we were given a a coupon that was expired. The manager still accepted the coupon even after telling us it was expired. My son was very proud of getting this award and was soooo excited to get his kids meal. I really appreciate Mr. Scott. Something so simple really made our day, especially my sons. I can’t say thank you enough. Love love love, this location!

It was almost closing time, and I have to give credit where it’s due. The crew working tonight did a spectacular job. As always, the gyro was great and the food was hot. Special thanks to the shift manager John. Keep up the good work
