I visit Ivy Tavern everytime I come to Providence, RI. Excellent food and drink, but even more important, to me, are the friendly folks that run the tavern. Because they are always genuinely friendly, treating every customer with kindness, the regulars that frequent the tavern always seem to be more sociable than I normally see in most places. This is a hard to find quality, these days.

We just moved here, to Providence, USA from Ireland. We were hoping to find a decent small pub setting where we could expect tasty food when we needed it. This place didn’t let us down. Such delicious food. A real plus was how kind the staff were, especially to my two young kids. Definitely going to be back. For such a small place, this has so much character.

Went with my partner on a Sunday for a quick lunch. The staff were nice, just a bit distracted so it was hard to get their attention sometimes. The space inside is quite small, but since we went on a Sunday for lunch it was fairly empty. We got an order of mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders to share.
The mozzarella sticks were nothing special, just run-of-the-mill mozzarella sticks with some subpar marinara sauce. The chicken tenders were dry and overcooked; not enjoyable to eat. Overall, our food was mediocre and I don’t see myself coming back.

Loved the atmosphere. Cool old wrestling posters on the wall. Very friendly and good music.
*Update*
Still really good. Had bibimbap this time. So delicious!!! Music still very good. Worth the wait.

Cozy little bar with a small bit varied menu and a good drink menu. I’ve had the chicken tacos and bibimbap so far, we’ve been twice. It’s really small but there are a few tables on the sidewalk and both times we’ve been able to get a seat.

Boyyyy, one of my spots I greedily don’t want to tell everyone about lest it somehow become too crowded or forced to increase prices. I’ll risk it to give Ivy its due credit. This has always been my fave spot to come when I’m gonna dine solo, sit at the bar in the corner and get a beer and burger. The burgers, I don’t know what makes them so good, but it’s like the griddle must be seasoned over time or something. It’s still the best burger in town aka all of RI. Their prices are totally reasonable, always have good happy chill music playing, and service has always been 10/10. Everyone’s always friendly and kind in a way that isn’t fake or too much. Just right. Today I got the smashed burger sub cheddar, onions o/s, sweet potato fries and a draft Fiddlehead. Couldn’t be better. Idk if my pic shows it but. These burgers. The fries just perfect

Great old school neighborhood spot. The staff are warm and welcoming. Good selection of classic pub food and underground Korean dishes.
