I went here for my birthday last weekend after a good amount of research and positive reviews. I made a reservation over the phone and things seemed good to go. Upon arrival We were seated by the hostess and apparently server. We were not asked if there was any occasion for the visit, told anything about the menu, possible specials, or if we had any questions. There isn’t really floor staff, It was one person covering foh and all the dining tables, and a bartender/psuedo server. The service was not attentive and seemed like they were bordering on being overwhelmed for not a very full restaurant. We ordered the chicken rice ball appetizer, which was a mildly elevated chicken nugget. We also ordered the wedge salad and asking for it to be chopped for us was almost a point of contention from the server claiming the kitchen was too busy. The salad was not chopped and way too over dressed. I ordered the tri tip which was bland and chewy with a watery sauce, the other entree was the chicken thighs which were really dry and tasted overwhelmingly smoky. The chicken was near inedible. Overall it was a very lackluster experience and will not be returning. The cocktail i ordered was the best thing by far. I hope it was just a bad night for future attendees but I think there is way better options for a pleasant dining experience.

Great addition to Springfield downtown. Great service, (make a reservation) steaks were not only cooked well, but the quality of the beef was good too.
Caveat: The chef doesn’t have a staff, and is proud of potato puff balls. Everyone at my table was a bit surprised when served with so much PLATE. Steak and four potato puffs.
I would suggest George & Violet adds a seasoned vegetable mix to the plate and a handful of green salad or sautéed asparagus. The bread rolls are nothing more than Rhode’s bread rolls for $7.00 Nothing special. Not butter basted or seasoned at all.
While everything we were served was cooked well and the service was great I would not go back for the lack of creating a balanced plate for the price.

This has got to be one of my top favorite places in the area for high end, delicious food. Every bite was sensational! We started with the Salmon Crudo, I could honestly eat 5 plates of this and have been dreaming about it since. Next we had beef and rice balls which were perfectly crispy on the outside and flavor was off the charts. My husband had the dungeoness crab pasta and I had the duck – both were incredible. Cocktails were great too, and the service was fantastic. 10/10

We came crawling to George + Violet’s in search of redemption after a truly tragic dinner elsewhere, and oh, did they deliver! This little gem turned our night around with the kind of charm only they can serve.
We ordered up fabulous lemon drops, perfectly smooth decaf coffee, and not one, but two custom Brandy Manhattans that could probably cure heartbreak, bad meals, and questionable life choices.
George + Violet’s wasn’t just a nightcap stop, it was a rescue mission. And they succeeded with flying colors. Next time, we’re skipping the “meh” dinner and heading straight here for drinks, dessert, and the good vibes.
George + Violet, you’re our heroes.

George + Violet’s strikes the perfect balance between upscale dining and small-town charm, creating an ambiance that’s both casual and elegant. From the moment you walk in, the owners and staff make you feel like family, going above and beyond to ensure an exceptional experience.
The food is nothing short of amazing. Each dish is beautifully crafted, with flavors that are both creative and memorable. Whether you’re sharing a romantic date night or dining as a family with toddlers in tow, this place accommodates effortlessly, making every occasion feel special.
It’s rare to find a restaurant where everything aligns so perfectly—quality, service, and atmosphere—but George + Violet’s has mastered it. Truly a hidden gem that we’ll keep coming back to!

First time going to George and Violets and it was amazing! Highly recommend. Get the Caesar Salad, the dressing is sweet and delicious and the way they serve it is neat! My Dad got the Ribeye and it was perfect, I had the Tri Tip and my husband had the Seafood Pasta. Everything was great, including the drinks. 10/10

Our go-to fancy casual spot in the Eugene area. Superlative attention to all details of food, drink, and service. Really appreciate their care and consideration with ingredients and about dietary restrictions too! Their specials rotate based on local, seasonal ingredient availability and their main menu gets an update every so often too.
If you’re looking for a special occasion spot or even just a place to go for a delicious dinner out, George and Violet’s is it.

First of, before we get into the food, I’d like to compliment our server. He was friendly, attentive and was very prompt. The food was delicious and everything put together was outstanding. I loved all the food and the desserts were very flavorful without being too sweet. I’d much prefer these desserts opposed to many of the bake shops around town. We had smoked earl grey ice cream, fig something really yummy and Panna cotta. This is the 1st time I’ve been here. We are picky about our steaks. The medium was a true medium with the perfect amount of Pink, but the char on the outside was just the right amount. I’m so happy with my birthday meal and I’ll definitely be returning. This is a gem for Springfield. There’s been some nice additions in the past few years, but I’d say this is by far the best restaurant in the city by far.

One of the most technically impressive meals I’ve had in the Eugene-Springfield area, from stem to stern, it was fantastic and tasty. We started off with the Parker House rolls, grilled pork belly and tried carpaccio for the first time. I’d almost get all of those just as a meal they were so good.
I had the rib-eye perfectly cooked and the marrow-butter was so good, you almost felt like you should drink what was left in the dish. Likewise, the potato croquettes were a star themselves. We pleaded with the server for a bucket of them, they were so good.
I typically don’t get dessert but everything had been so good, we had to give a shot, ordering the key lime panacotta, sundae and, my favorite, the dark chocolate mousse which was perfect and begging for a cup of coffee with it.
Drinks were great, service was even better… this place is worthy of the price and a try. You won’t be disappointed.
