Went to this place for brunch, and everything was tasty. It’s a bit small inside, but they have a small sitting area to eat in. They have a good variety of breads and pastries, and it looks like they keep the bakery well stocked.

Came down to Carlsbad for the beach and there is no Mexican Pandarias in the coast so found this little gem in San Marcos. Only took 15 minutes of cruising through the neighborhood. And this place has the some of the best Pan and Pastel. Even better than places in SD. We took home some Bolillos and they were so fluffy. Also Loved all the options of Cakes. Got a chocolate mousse, strawberry mousse & mocha tres leches.

I bought a 3 Leches Strawberry Mousse cake on Thanksgiving. Service was pretty basic. But the cashier didn’t even bother putting the top on the cake. I grabbed it and noticed it was open. She stood there looking me dead in my face, not offering help, as I put the top on. Had I not noticed the cake would’ve fallen out the holder right onto the floor.
Next issue and the biggest issue. I paid $41 for this cake. My family was so excited for a moist Tres Leche cake. I cut a few pieces and the moment we tried it we were all disgusted. This cake was INSANELY dry! Like we needed milk to get it down. I’m adding photos because you can even tell in the photos how dry it is. I’m so disappointed because I went here based on the Tres Leche reviews. I should’ve taken the food poisoning review as law and skipped this place. I STRONGLY do not recommend this place. I’m disputing my AMEX charge because this cake was dry garbage.

This little breakfast burrito place also serves as the Sun Pan bakery. I really like the hand breakfast burrito but found the carne asada burrito to be fairly ordinary. Slow service but nice people.

No place can be perfect, they never pick up their phone when you’re trying to order something. But other than that, I can’t think of another place in San Marcos where you can find fresh and I mean fresh sweet Mexican bread daily. Among other things they also have good fresh hand squeezed orange juice and some awesome Mexican dishes. Tortas, burritos, breakfast plates, etc . I come here at least once every week. My favorite breakfast plate is their green chilaquiles, you got to try them.
