I had such an amazing experience at El Tataki! The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they put care into every dish.
The atmosphere was fun and welcoming the perfect spot to go with friends or for a casual date night. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without making us feel rushed.
The drinks were also a highlight refreshing, well balanced, and the perfect pairing with the food. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone!

We had an amazing experience at El Tataki Sushi Fusion in Tempe, and a huge part of that was our waiter, Sergio Escalante. From the moment we sat down, Sergio was attentive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. He made excellent recommendations, checked on us consistently without being intrusive, and had such a positive, welcoming energy throughout the night.
Our food and drinks came out perfectly timed, everything was beautifully presented, and he genuinely made us feel taken care of. You can tell he takes pride in his work and cares about his guests’ experience. Service like this truly elevates the entire dining experience.

I wanted to give the food a three star, but I wanted to give them another chance, it was super unique The portions were pretty good I’d say a little more than standard, I was a little frustrated that I couldn’t get some of the traditional sushi type of setup I didn’t realize it was very heavily focused on a Hispanic or Mexican type of sushi take on the industry, it was hard to find anything that didn’t have shrimp which is not great to have in sushi dishes, I didn’t have a chance to try their sashimi or some of the other unique dishes, I really enjoyed the flavor of the rules that we got I had the Cordon Bleu and my wife had a Las Vegas the biggest failure was they were not hot and they should have been, or at least mine, it was a little less than lukewarm, The atmosphere was really cool, great place for business meetings or nicer get togethers, great for a date, the staff was good, our server was pretty awesome, just didn’t fill up our water, some basic rookie kind of mistakes, the dessert menu was left wanting for how fancy and pricey the place is seems like there’d be more than just the overpriced churros options to stand out, locations great, the music was fun, and keeping everything for and five star because it was super unique and I’m sure there’s amazing dishes I haven’t tried yet but unless you really want that Mexican Hispanic spin on it don’t expect it to be close to your high-end sushi place that you’d like to go to…

A must try in Tempe!!!! Such a cool concept and the food was well presented and extremely delicious!!! It’s giving Scottsdale atmosphere with Tempe prices and service.
This place took over the old Sweet Tomatoes and it is QUITE the change. It is stunning inside and really give a high end feel to the place.
Recommend the House Roll and the Aguachile Verde. Our drinks were just okay. I had a Paloma and my partner had a Michelada. We both agree the could use a bit of refinement and a bit more alcohol. Spend some time with your bar staff and check your pours. They look great coming out, but that wow factor didn’t carry over to the taste.
Presentation of our food was a 10 out of 10. Bravo to the kitchen they are extremely consistent. Everything that came out was beautifully plated and tasted amazing. Someone spent a lot of time making sure the kitchen was very well trained and it shows. Same with the sushi chefs. My cuts, rolls, and plating were extremely consistent and looked gorgeous when it came out.
Service was a bit lacking. The hostess didn’t give a lot of eye contact and was looking down at the seating chart when we were greeted personally. Our waitress was very knowledgeable but seemed to be spread a bit thin with her tables. I REALLY like the headset system for all the servers and hostess though. This is great cause anyone can assist you or relay message to the wait staff. I found that to be a AMAZING addition to the business. It help with the efficiency.
The bar was pretty name brand. Would like to see more beers from Mexico and Japan. I also would to see more hybrid accompaniments and menu options. For a fusion restaurant there wasn’t a lot of fusion options. Like a Michelada with Sapporo or Kirin would have been a banger or sake floated margaritas. Something to pull the 2 cultures together.
My favorite part about this place is that you could very much take a group of wildy different tastes and everyone would easily find something to eat. All in all it is a solid 7/10 overall. There is room for improvement, but it was a good enough experience to recommend to friends and come back to for a date night.
