First time coming today, good energy in there. I definitely will be coming back the food was great & I have plenty left over so I’m definitely feed on this nice Sunday. I was surprised they were open on a level 2 . I’m coming back for that meatloaf one of these Sundays. Happy customer here & definitely spreading the word. Get there you won’t be disappointed.

I had fresh hot fried chicken that was fried a little hard but the crunch of the skin with the nice seasoning was perfect plus okra and potato salad, cornbread with samples of sweet potatoes, cabbage and greens on the side. Lord have mercy I fell in love it made me feel like I was at home eating every single bite. I am so happy that I found this diamond as well. You really made my day delicious in every way. The food is blessed and the taste of love is all in it❤️ I recommend Josephine’s soul food for sure. I’ll be back soon

It’s Sarah for Texas! I promised a review and here we are. I almost didn’t stop but I am so glad I did. You know a place is going to be good when you walk in and actually smell food. And that’s exactly what happened. Came in and was greeted by the most beautiful soul. She helped me through the menu. We chatted and they are were so welcoming! This place reminds me of my “Granny from another family’s” cooking. Reminded me of back home with some difference that I wasn’t mad about. The pork chops were fork tender. The cabbage had a sweet hint to it. The Mac and Cheese was good. Hubby got the fried catfish with dirty rice. He loved the dirty rice. The catfish was nice a crispy. And that cornbread! Amazing portion sizes and reasonable prices.Tasted amazing. Don’t hesitate to stop here. I have tried a few soul food spots since moving to the North and Josephine’s is the closest to reminding me of home. I will be returning.

Josephine’s Soul Food in Toledo has a friendly staff and a cozy vibe. It’s best to order ahead, as the wait can be long. The fried chicken is crispy, juicy, and full of flavor—definitely a highlight. The mac and cheese is okay but could be creamier. Unfortunately, the peach cobbler is very bad—it’s undercooked and not enjoyable at all. Stick to the main dishes, especially the chicken, for a satisfying meal. Corn bread is great.

I just got hip to this place and they have the best soul food in the city! This food tastes just like when you get invited to the cookout. I’ll definitely be eating here at least once a week if not more. This food is so good you gotta try it!

I got the fried chicken wings, m&c, and yams. Other meal was smothered pork chops, collard greens and m&c.
Wings were good, fried with no seasoning,( dip it in hot sauce).
M&c were perfect. Yams were a tad sweet but great. Collard greens were a bit salty though. Overall enjoyed the food. Cute little corner kitchen. Food prices are not bad. Sundays are the best time to go.

Amazing, real deal soul food. Hands down the best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten (seasoning is fabulous), might be the best mac & cheese too, at least top 2, greens are on point too. Definitely try this spot out, was only my second time there (1st in 3 years) but still is delicious…. 5 stars is not enough for Josephine’s Soul Food. Love it
