Best traditional fondue in NYC. Simple menu, focus on the 3-cheese fondue served with potatoes, bread, and cornichon. Also ordered the charcuterie board (nice but a bit overpriced for the order, nice to dip in the fondue) and the steak tartare. Highly recommend the aromatic and crisp Les Parchets D’Emile Chasselas wine. Excellent to pair with the rich cheese. Sat in the gondola which is fun, but would recommend the small table near the window.

Stopped by Lavaux for lunch and had such a great time. The Raclette Burger was super satisfying and cheesy, and the truffle fondue was amazing, perfect for sharing.
Really cozy vibe and a great spot to hang out with friends or spend a chill weekend together. Definitely a place I’d come back to again.

Lavaux was such a great experience. I called ahead to let them know we were a group of four hoping to walk in, and they were kind enough to hold a table for us. This place fills up quickly, so a reservation is definitely needed. Even with the restaurant being full, they accommodated us with a great table and let us know we would need to wrap up by 8:30 for the next reservation, but we never felt rushed and the pacing was perfect. Emily was our server and she was wonderful. She explained the menu, gave helpful recommendations, and was genuinely warm and easy to talk to.
We tried the Rosé and the Coquelicot cocktails, both vermouth based and both very good. They were refreshing, strong in a clean way, and very easy to drink. We ordered the charcuterie board, the traditional fondue, and the chocolate fondue. There were four of us, and ordering portions for two was just right. For anyone who doesn’t eat pork, there is a wagyu beef option for the charcuterie board, which was a thoughtful touch. Their QR code menu is simple to use and makes ordering easy.
Everything was delicious. The cheese fondue was incredible, rich and smooth, and dipping the golden potatoes was unexpectedly fun and satisfying. The chocolate fondue is a must. It is a blend of milk and dark chocolate and was one of the highlights of the night. I recommend asking for extra waffles, strawberries, and bananas.
The ambiance was cozy and beautiful and works well for groups of any size. They can even accommodate larger groups of around twenty, and there is bar seating if you want something more casual. We were in and out in about an hour and a half, including drinks, dinner, and dessert, and the timing felt comfortable the whole way through.
Our total was around $350 before tip for four vermouth cocktails, a charcuterie board, cheese fondue, and chocolate fondue. I would absolutely return.

Go on Tuesday night for their opt-in, note-passing event! My sister and I went for the event specifically and weren’t sure what to expect, but it was so fun and great for any pair or group of people to participate. Order a cheese fondue to split, enjoy their wine, and connect with other diners through this chill, low pressure Tuesday night event that is just so beautiful, so needed, and so thoughtful. I’ve never encountered another restaurant doing this type of event and it was just fantastic! Would definitely come back!

Ate here for the first time to celebrate my cousin’s birthday! Emily was very kind and offered amazing service! We ordered the meat charcuterie and traditional cheese fondue. The wagyu beef was awesome and our favorite. I loved the chocolate fondue especially dipping the pieces of Belgian waffles into it. Great service and a wonderful experience.

I had an great experience at The Lavaux Cafe! Service at The Lavaux is attentive and knowledgeable, with staff eager to guide diners through the menu and wine list, ensuring a memorable dining experience. The highlight of my visit was their incredible fondue—rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. It’s one of the best I’ve had, with perfectly balanced flavors and high-quality cheese.

Everything looks delicious however is there any fondue places that allows a single person to dine without buying for two? I’m coming to NY again and really craving fondue, however I’ll be alone and I have no friends in the city. This place was a perfect find until I saw there is a minimum of two people for fondue. I understand restricting two people from paying the price of one and splitting the meal, but what about one person who truly only needs enough for one who has no one with them to split $100+ worth of charcuterie, fondue, and chocolate fondue? I would even appreciate a singles person package, including charcuterie and fondue at a set minimum price and only one head at the table. People who date themselves exist too and we also want the cheeses pretty please…..
I will not be back in NY for another few months and I’ll bring my partner so I too can finally enjoy the cheeses at what I hear is the best spot in town ✨✨

The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a classic fondue and their house wine. The server was right, their house wine paired very well with the fondue. The fondue came with fingerling potatoes, pickles, and some radishes. The cheese was flavorful but also not too salty nor too overpowering. The potatoes were cooked perfectly, combined with the natural sweetness, it was perfect for the fondue. The sourdough bread was quite nice, too. The only imperfection was that they forgot the beef tartare I ordered, but it also didn’t showed on my check anyway. Overall, I had a good time here.
