This is the best Mexican food that I have eaten in a restaurant in years! The food was fresh and unique! The chicken in the fajita Jalisco was seasoned perfectly, the steak looked like steak slices, not cut cardboard pieces, and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. It was obvious that the guacamole, pico de gallo, Spanish rice and refried beans were recently prepared as well as their standard chips, salsa and cheese sauce. Water was served in a glass, the staff was efficient and friendly and the fajitas were served hot. You could tell this food was not last night’s leftovers or heated up in a microwave. My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Barton County is Mi Tierra. If you are looking for clean, fresh food – head to Hoisington!

This was recommended to us by the hotel clerk in Great Bend “if you want really good Mexican food” and she was right. Everything was delicious. The portion sizes were maybe a little smaller than I’m used to, but ended up being perfect for 1 meal without leftovers.
I was a little taken aback by the extra charge after the first basket if chips and bottle of salsa, but I will say that the prices are very reasonable on most everything (3 flour tortillas for $4.00 wasn’t something I would have paid if I had thought to ask the price up front).
The drink special in Tuesdays of 3 small margaritas in 3 different flavors was wonderful and a really good deal at $5.75 (as of September 2025).
Well worth the drive.

Very clean Restuarant…staff were vacuuming every where unoccupied, others were wiping tables & the entire area of the chairs & benches!!

Gray Musi playing at a good volume for dinner conversation. The margaritas are cold and limey and slide down easy on a hot day. We had carne asada tacos and a combination plate. Both were served quickly by friendly waiters. The food was hot, fresh and delicious.
