Pretty good authentic Mexican food here in Port Charlotte, albeit a lot more expensive than I thought it would be.
Meal for 2 at lunchtime:
Crazy Taco – beef tongue, $5.95. Crazy Taco – chicken, $5.50, comes wrapped with 2 corn tortillas for each one.
Side of beans ($4.00) and rice ($4.00, which was $8.00 for the plate) x2 at $16.00.
Regular taco – steak (I believe it was around $4 or so)
Bottle water x2, $1.50×2 = $3.00. They don’t offer free ice water.
Total for lunch for two = $39.02
The service was awesome! Friendly people. We ate at one of 2 or 3 small tables available. My guest and me thought the music was on the loud side.
Food was not bad. Honestly, though, I would have been just as happy with Taco Bell at their elevated prices but still less expensive than this establishment.
Our rice/beans was served on Styrofoam plates and we were given a bottle to use for our meal of green tomatillo/cilantro spicy taco sauce and the other was a very spicy creamy red sauce with visible seeds.
The menu prices shown with these reviews is outdated. Prices have increased by quite a bit compared to the online menu pictures.
I’d recommend this place. Although I would have preferred my food a little saltier, it was still good eats.

Outstanding food amazing customer service and hands down literally the best torta me and my wife had and one was so big it was enough to feed us both. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT makes me feel like I’m at home. Thank you the the crew and everyone that served us.

we have been there three times recently Service has always been professional and delightful. Food portions are very generous very authentic and delicious. The bierra quesadilla was amazing, tacos are delish and my husband loved the carnitas burrito. Heading there tonight.

Me and the family were looking for something to grab on the way home from the animal adoption center and couldn’t decide. Saw the taco sign and thought, why not. Now, it’s when are we going back!! The Torta Loca is the best on the menu and I haven’t even tried anything else. I’m definitely a fan of Hildago’s and would recommend them again and again.

Went here for lunch because we heard so many great things about their food. Place is small with about 8 areas to sit. We ordered the Chicken Burrito and the 2 Tripas (Beef Tripe) Tacos. Burrito was huge and even though the tacos were small, they were very filling. We will definitely be returning another day. Very authentic Mexican food

Seriously good tacos! I had chicken, steak, Chorizo and the shrimp tacos. They were all delicious! I loved the Shrimp tacos! Not a lot of room to sit so come before a rush of you want to dine in. Eat it in your car if you have to, it’s worth it!

It’s authentic Mexican food. It’s a hole-in-the- wall kind of place, which in my opinion tends to have the best food. Very little seating but doable. Best Mexican in the area.
