Tucked on Manchester Blvd in Inglewood, **Cake Garden** is the unassuming bakery that’s become my go-to for midnight sugar emergencies and afternoon pick-me-ups alike . The vibe is pure old-school charm—bright cases glowing with colorful layers, handwritten signs, and that constant hum of mixers in the back. It’s small, no-frills, and always smells like fresh buttercream and warm ovens.
The **sweet cakes** are legitimately addictive. The red velvet slice is moist, tangy cream cheese frosting piled high without being cloying—classic done right ❤️. Strawberry shortcake layers fluffy vanilla sponge with real whipped cream and juicy berries that taste like summer. But the standout? The **pineapple upside-down cake**—caramelized edges, tender crumb, chunks of fruit that burst with sweetness. Even the simple chocolate fudge hits deep cocoa notes with ganache that shines. Everything tastes homemade, not factory-sweet, and portions are generous enough to share (or not).
What really sets Cake Garden apart? Those **long hours**—open until midnight (sometimes later) seven days a week. Craving cake after a concert, late flight, or just a rough day? They’re there for you when every other bakery’s dark. Staff are warm even at 11 PM, slicing fresh pieces with a smile and boxing them neatly.
Only docking 0.5 for the too sweet cakes that actually deliver flavor and those clutch late-night hours, Cake Garden is Inglewood’s hidden hero. I’ll be back way too often—probably tonight.
Super delicious and comforting food! Their cake is not too sweet and the croissant was delicious. Customer service is really pleasant!
On top of that, the cake texture was soft and moist, the flavors were well-balanced, and the overall presentation was top-notch. You can really tell a lot of care goes into both taste and design. Definitely a must-visit for cake lovers and anyone looking for something that’s both tasty and visually attractive ✨
Sharpie in photo for scale 🙂
Spending $31.00 for desserts that looked amazing but delivered absolutely nothing in taste was beyond frustrating. Appearance alone does not justify the price. Unfortunately, I would not return.
It’s the ultimate Long Beach snack spot. The staff is friendly, and the quality is consistent. Do yourself a favor and grab at least two, because one is definitely not enough!
