Ordered pulled pork and brisket with a side of slaw and another of smoked mac and cheese. Service was very pleasant and efficient. Big the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches were heavy with the amount of meat. My wife enjoyed her pulled pork with mild sauce and said it was very good. The brisket was excellent, lean, tender and good beefy flavor. Not a lot of smoky flavor and the spicy sauce was not spicy. Cole slaw was good. Mac and cheese was good but I noticed no smokiness. Prices were excellent. Worth a stop at this little drive thru, especially if you like your smokinesson the light side.

The brisket was delicious. I loved the spicy sauce. Since it was a nice night, I sat at the picnic tables beside the building. Nice touch. The owner is very friendly and it sounds like they have some great plans. I will definitely be back!

We got pound of pulled pork and pound of brisket. Both had no smoke flavor – pork was very dry – brisket was the best out of the two but it was so greasy. Ordered smoked mac n’ cheese – TERRIBLE – no flavor at all. Ordered fries – NOT COOKED. Not sure how they thought these were even close to being cooked – fries were still white and clear looking – they were COLD by the time I got home. Read the reviews – do not understand how they have so many great reviews when I got the worst meal I’ve had in YEARS today. Even my 14 year old said everything was tasteless.

The hospitality and speed was the first thing I noticed when coming to Backwoods BBQ. The owner is awesome. I was very pleased with the way my food taste, the way it was presented, and the how quick I received it. I don’t have a bad thing to say. (And that’s a lot coming from me considering I’m a very picky eater.)

Got the brisket sandwich and the side of smoked macaroni and cheese. I’m not sure if I got day old brisket or if it had been warming for a while but it tasted like wet beef jerky. I had to dump all the meat out of the sandwich and eat it with my hands because it was so tough. The smoked mac and cheese had no detectable smoke flavor and tasted like any run of the mill powdered cheese mix. There are several other BBQ places in Fort Wayne that will offer you better food at comparable or better prices.

I got the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese as my side. The mac and cheese was just okay. The sandwich was a good size and the pork was moist, but it was also super salty and there was nowhere near enough barbecue sauce on it. I think the concept of a small drive-thru barbecue joint is great, but I would brine the pork a little less, and put in on in thinner layers with sauce in between each one rather than putting on one thick layer and just putting the sauce on top.

Ribs are quite good. So are the sauces. They gave me the wrong side dish so I recommend checking before leaving. We were also surprised that the honey chicken was a breaded sandwich. The menu was not clear on that. Of all of the businesses which have tried to make a go of this location this is my favorite. So we will definitely be back.

If I could give more stars I would. Best bbq flavor in town. Meat always tender and moist. Service is fast and friendly. Why spend money on grilling supplies and stand in the heat when you can get this and take to park or backyard.

I was afraid to leave a good review because when people read it and try it they will be hooked and im gonna be waiting in long lines for my food here real soon i just know it. The pork and brisket were amazing!!!! Go here people believe me!!!! The small building houses some of the biggest flavor in town!!

Well worth the $$…. the pork was cooked to perfection. .and the veggies were cold and crisp….really nice guy working (&cooking) the place inside looked clean…and food was made in a hot second …..slide in off one of the st. Joe’s and try it ….especially waiting in that Canterbury traffic …..ahhhh
