The Cheros bowl was perfect. Fresh veggies, good layering of ingredients, and the right serving size. You can’t see from my photo the black beans and rice under all those fresh goodies. I loved that the rice wasn’t dry. The service was fast.

So my wife and I were doing our usual dance of “What do you want for dinner?” and I decided to take matters into my own hands and do a search for “food near me”. Up pops Cheros Grill. As a proud resident of the People’s Republic of Takoma Park, I felt it was necessary to support this local business. So off I went. I have driven past the location for years and never thought about trying it but today was the day and boy oh boy what a day. First, let’s start with the clean atmosphere. It may be at a service station but their area is super clean. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the Tia who is very pleasant and about her business. I ordered the steak burrito and the carnitas (pork) for my wife and a carnitas taco on the side for me. The taco is plain just onions and cilantro and doesn’t need anything else except the tomatillo sauce. It is small yet powerful. The burrito is chockful of meat, vegetables and well-cooked rice, with the meat thrown on the griddle right there. Overall I would recommend it. I’m going there right now after I post this review.

Great food, great value, friendly family business. I have been coming here for years, and the burritos and tacos are reliably delicious. Wonderful vegetarian options, too. Strong recommend for reliable and affordable yummy lunch or dinner!

The food was amazing and barely took any time for the food to be ready. We got steak tacos and after we finished them, we got seconds. These were some of the best tacos I have ever had! The people are so nice. I would definitely come back.

The steak burrito had:
1. Good beans and rice
2. Crunchy/chewy peppers
3. Soft and squishy tortilla
4. Appropriately flavorful steak
It is not a SoCal burrito, but it is arguably the best burrito I’ve had around these parts.

After moving away, had to get a steak burrito when I came to visit. My first time here in 2 years and still perfectly tender steak, well made rice and beans and perfectly put together burrito. Just Delicious.
I try to come here at least once a week. The food is incredible. Easily became my go-to after the first heavenly burrito.

Pretty mid. Price is good appropriate and location is convenient. The burrito had rice that was a bit hard, and chicken was a bit dry but steak was fine.

After a few iterations, I’ve concluded that the veggie burrito without rice, extra beans, and spicy is the ideal combo. The burrito is on the smaller end, but it’s tasty.
