My husbands and I first time at this restaurant and we learned a few things about Korean food and how it’s eaten. The atmosphere was very homey and I loved the decorations, The food was amazing in my opinion very healthy. The lady (Idk if she is the owner or not) was so amazing and so friendly with a touch of humor. We did wait a bit to get our food but that’s ok it all still tasted great and I wasn’t in a rush to be anywhere! I would definitely go back!

My son chose Jib-Bob to celebrate his graduation from CMU. We enjoyed eating at Jib-Bob. The chef owner was the only person working when we arrived. Be prepared to wait a bit for your food.
We enjoyed several types of kimchi as an appetizer. My daughter and I had delicious tofu vegetarian dishes. My son liked his beef entree, and my wife enjoyed her pork entree.

The owner came to our table after our meal came and asked how everything was. I can only say great things about this woman and her food. Yes she cooked our meals as well! We had service with a smile and the atmosphere was very inviting and felt like a mother’s home cooked meal. Very warm and inviting. Highly recommend if you’re in the area of mount pleasant to try this place. I have to say though if you can’t handle spicy then don’t try the kimchi lol the taste was great but I can not do spicy. If you can’t handle spice then I say absolutely try it!

We had such a wonderful experience at Jib-Bob. From the moment we walked in, the cozy atmosphere and thoughtful décor stood out, I believe many of the pieces were created by the owner herself, who once ran an art studio in South Korea, which gives the space a unique and personal touch.

We ordered the Dak Gal-Bee (#2) and Kimchi Boak-Geum-Bob (#6), along with green tea and jujube tea. Everything was delicious, but the jujube tea in particular was prepared so beautifully that it made me want to learn how to make it myself. The flavors felt authentic, comforting, and clearly made with care.

Service was exceptional, the owner checked on us often and made us feel so welcome, something that really sets Jib-Bob apart from larger restaurants. Portion sizes were generous, and the value was fantastic; we paid under $50 for two people and left full and happy.

This is the kind of place I’d recommend to anyone, whether for a casual meal or something special. Just note that larger groups should call ahead, as the restaurant is cozy, but the owner is flexible and will even open on closed days for groups.

Overall, it’s hard to single out just one highlight because everything, the food, the service, the atmosphere, comes together perfectly.

On a road trip headed up north, we had heard this was a great place, so we stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was very fun. There was a group there to celebrate a birthday and there was small wait, but it was soooo worth it!

We ordered two different kinds of Bibim-Bob and I also ordered the kimchi/side spread. The sides were SO GOOD. the variety of flavors and texture were great. I also appreciated the spin on potato salad. I was told it was her (the chef/owner) mother’s recipe. With every dish, you can very much taste the care taken to prepare it.

The Bibim-Bobs came out and were beautiful. I regret not taking a picture of them – they looked so delicious we dove right in – especially when combined with sides spread.

Bottom line – if you are passing through or staying in Mt Pleasant, it is very much worth a trip to Jib-Bob’s. I’m so glad we were there during business hours and are planning to build it into our future trips through Michigan.

Probably the best Korean restaurant in Michigan

It’s a one woman show, and she does an incredible job. The ban chan, kimchi, and just about everything else is made in house. The beef was obviously very high quality in addition to perfectly prepared. The sweet potato noodles with pork were unlike anything I have had in the area. No additives, largely organic, made with love…not much more one could ask for.

I really wish this wasn’t a 2 hour drive for us

This place is so homey and comforting! You can tell the owner puts her heart and soul into every plate and it is cooked like she was making it for herself! The portion was perfect for the price and the beef literally melts in your mouth and seasoned to perfection. This is all without exaggeration SERIOUSLY. The best meal I’ve had in my 6+ years of living in MP.

Authentic Korean food on point! We loved the hospitality from the owner, as well as the fantastic, adorable decorations that remind me of my home country. The food struck a great balance between sweet and savory, and was cooked to perfection. We enjoyed it as much as the owner took pride in preparing and cooking everything she serves. Paying for side dishes (banchan) is somewhat uncommon, but you get more sides here than at other restaurants, and each one was healthy, authentic and flavorful. Glad we found this place!

I had one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere here in Mount Pleasant is genuinely warm and inviting—it has that rare, intimate feeling of being welcomed into someone’s home. The service was impeccable, always delivered with a smile. The true star, however, is the owner/chef. She personally prepared our dishes, and the quality and care were evident. A visit from her to our table to check on the meal was the perfect personal touch. My only cautionary note: while delicious, the kimchi is seriously spicy. If your tolerance is low, admire it from afar, or prepare for a delightful, fiery challenge
