I came across this establishment while passing through the area and decided to stop in and try it. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The staff appeared inattentive and unwelcoming, creating an atmosphere that suggested dine-in customers were not particularly encouraged. It became evident that the business is more geared toward takeout orders rather than providing a proper dine-in experience.
I was dissatisfied with my meal and requested to speak with a manager. However, the staff member I spoke to claimed not to know who the manager was and could not provide a name, which felt evasive and unprofessional.
Regarding the food: while the overall flavor was quite good, there was a significant concern with the portioning and value, particularly with the red meat. As someone familiar with authentic Indian cuisine, I found the pricing of the goat dishes to be excessive, especially given the disproportionately high bone-to-meat ratio. It appeared that cuts with minimal meat were intentionally selected, yet still priced at a premium—something experienced diners will recognize as a troubling practice.
In summary, I rate this establishment one star. The poor customer service, lack of transparency, and questionable value make it difficult to recommend. For those seeking authentic Indian cuisine and respectful service, I would suggest exploring other options in the area.

There’s a problem when they add more rice than meat and that is actually detrimental to your health and well-being

Visited this restaurant for the first time based on the reviews, and it was a good experience overall. We tried the Daal Tomato and Paneer Tikka Masala—both were flavorful. The standout items were definitely the Crispy Garlic Naan and Chilli Garlic Naan, which were delicious and perfectly cooked. Buttermilk and rice were average. The ambience was pleasant and added to the experience. We’re already planning our next visit to try their biryani!

The food was pretty tasty, definitely made fresh. The chili garlic naan was my favorite. The place is small but cute and clean. I enjoyed the decor. The server barely said a word. Had to ask for rice, which I’m still not sure if it was included with the meal or extra because when I asked she just walked away and came back with rice and didn’t offer a receipt.

We have dined here many times. For some reason anytime you order naan for takeout, they change up the naans. Ordered here last night and they gave us frozen packet naans reheated. Such a shame. On top of that they are charging for the price of naan they would make in a tandoor. Very disappointing. Will not be ordering here again.

I called numerous times to speak to manager or owner and I was getting different stories from different employees as to why he cannot call me. So I went in and got a refund on the naans

We enjoyed the chicken biryani, Drums of Heaven, and mutton haleem—all delicious! The Drums of Heaven were especially standout: spicy and full of flavor. We also had naan and goat curry, which were both excellent. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves spicy food!

Delightful Indian restaurant in Newark DE! Tried this gem for lunch and was blown away. Everything we ordered was delicious and service was fast and professional. Staff was friendly and helpful. The chicken shawarma was the highlight for me personally. Love how you can adjust the level of spice/heat of each dish! Will return to further explore the menu soon!

House of Biryani and Kebab is a brand they are known for their biryani . Having tried their biryanis in Malvern and KOP , I had high expectations, and they didn’t disappoint. The chicken, mutton, and even the Paneer biryani for my vegetarian friend were all exceptional. The chicken pieces are so tender and so flavourful in the biryani that aroma of the Biriyani is so good. When it comes to mutton the pieces are not tender as chicken, but the flavours hits you once it dive in.Their starters like Apollo fish and Kaju chicken were delicious, although the chicken starter was just okay. What sets this place apart is the generous portion sizes and budget-friendly prices. the one and only negative what I observed is this place had very few limited seating options. So when you reach or when you’re planning to go to this place, definitely make a reservation. So If you’re in Delaware and craving biryani, House of Biryani and Kebab is your go-to spot!”

GOAT HALEEM WAS GOOD
Local restaurant needs a boost… Try it once ….

when I was picking up the order for take out…I started off discussing the portion of the Goat Haleem.. as I saw a Small bowl…coz recently I had tried the chicken haleem from a nearby restaurant….. and comparitively the Goat Haleem quantity was less for $17.
I was even asking to charge extra to increase the portion.

The Owner Mr. Anand is a polite and kind person, who has been running this restaurant from many years and he understands Hospitality and customer satisfaction.

He made me understand why the portion is less for a Goat Haleem in comparison to Chicken Haleem.

Not only that he understood I am looking for value for money and I am a business traveller so I get very few options of Indian food.
So, to avoid a sitiuation of unsatisfaction from Goat Haleem and 1 Naan that I had ordered… He added a complimentary Chicken Biryani.. asking me to taste and give a feedback on it.

My assumption of the Goat Haleem portion is less turned off…. The food was delicious …. every bite had shredded Goat meat… Spices were balanced … not too spicy not too less also…nicely garnished… looked very tempting and was cooked really well..

Haleem Quantity , the proportion … including the naan … made me fill to the Neck..

The taste was really satisfying….

The Complimentary Chicken biryani became my lunch for the other day… It was pretty good … but not a 5 star one….

Thank you Mr. Anand… Keep up the good work…

Visited this Indian restaurant 2 weeks back. Food was tasty and service was good and as expected. This place can accommodate 30 people at a time but very neat and clean. Pricing is affordable based on quality wise. We will visit again in coming days.
