We really enjoyed our meal here! The restaurant is modern and chic but still has a cozy ambiance. We had the chowder, oysters, seafood linguine, and tri tip steak sandwich. The linguine sauce had a great depth of flavor and came with a generous portion of mixed seafood. The sandwich had thinly shaved steak and was incredibly juicy and flavorful. Service was attentive as well. I’m excited to try out the other items on the menu and am very happy that we have a quality new spot in town.

Went for lunch and the food is delicious. Loved everything we had. Blue points, scallop with saffron risotto, oyster and scallop po boy, spinach dip. Get the spicy passion fruit margarita.

I had an excellent experience at 387 Oyster House. The food here really lives up to the hype.
My dish was cooked perfectly and plated really well. The sauce, veggies, and fish all came together beautifully. The atmosphere is relaxed but still has an upscale feel, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and on point the whole time.
Overall, great food, great service, and a great vibe. I will definitely come back!

388 Oyster House & Bar delivers on every level. The environment is contemporary, warm, and truly inviting. The stunning round bar immediately catches your eye, and the dining area is spacious and comfortable, making it perfect for everything from date night to a casual meal with friends.
The menu has something for everyone-whether you’re craving a great burger, a delicious lobster roll, or a beautifully prepared fine-dining entrée. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented.
A special shout-out to Tony G, our amazing server! He was friendly, attentive, and made our experience even better.

387 had big shoes to fill after bernadette’s closing and i am happy to say they have not only filled them but changed the fit a bit, for the better. layout is smarter, menu is extensive, and service is excellent. excited to see how they develop further!

This place is great for the neighborhood, and I hope it stays and grows.
Why I like it:
– well-presented cocktails at reasonable price
– Server very qualified – she must have been in the restaurant service industry for a long time
– food was a welcome departure from the boredom of typical Americanized pasta pizza places in this part of NJ. Shrimp and oyster po’boy sandwiches, raw oysters, etc
– Happy Hr at the bar 4-6pm w $2 oysters
Considerations:
– the interior is quite nice; the drinks match the vibe quite well; but I feel as though the food might still have room to grow
– Overall, food was decent; perhaps it just fell shy of being “must-go-back special”. I only say this bc I can’t recall needing to go back for it, the same way you’d remember “miso black cod” (and its synonymousness w Nobu). Or how we should go to Artie’s for their above avg pasta and cocktails. Here, I remember first the drinks and ambiance, and the fact it’s great for this neighborhood.
– To address the menu/food, and align w the setting, I might ask a consultant, but perhaps (1) filter out some of the generic “please-all-audience-type” menu items (think: egg rolls, chicken sandwich, nachos, stuffed flounder, burger, etc., none of which scream “high end” nor align w the image of a decadent raw bar / cocktail lounge); (2) reduce the “land” section of the menu by 20-33%; (3) focus on making a few items truly standout that people will remember and need to go back for. Things or recipes you can’t get in these neighborhoods, to match the specialness of your property.
Overall, I liked this place and wish it much success. Hope to go back and try more as 1 time does not make me an expert.

This was undoubtedly one of the best meals I’ve had in Scotch Plains! I highly recommend the Short Rib Egg Rolls and the Crab Cake Sliders, but everything else I ordered was incredible. They also have a great mocktail and cocktail selection. The atmosphere inside transported me into an upscale NYC restaurant!! The staff was super friendly and easily accommodating to allergies. I cannot wait to come back to try more off the menu.

When this place opened, I REALLY wanted it to succeed but after having a meal, I just had to write a review. I gotta say, after so much hype, we finally got a Friday night rez for 6. The spot is fun and lively but we were squeezed into a 4 person booth against the wall, they are lacking in tables that accommodate more than 4, I felt like a little kid wedged into the adult table. Cocktails, top notch. Oysters, decent but please don’t call yourself an “oyster house” and only have 3 different oysters. There are sooo many excellent East Coast oysters, yet you choose to have Blue Point? Big red flag. Meatballs…good, tasty, nice portion. I rate restaurants by their pork chop.This was one of the worst I’ve ever had. As soon as I cut through it, I could tell. It looked gritty and dull. As i chewed it, it also had a gritty texture, tell tale signs of it having been frozen. The sauce was thin as if it were watered down. Two people got the curry sauced fish special. The fish also had an odd texture, reminiscent of having been frozen. While the curry sauce helped and it did taste good, we couldn’t get past the texture. The crusted chicken was like 2 hockey pucks and the person who ordered it said “its disgusting” The duck special was the best dish at the table, very tasty. The linguine with clams had a nice selection of seafood, good amount as well. Moving on to dessert. The waiter suggested the “made in house” bread pudding. While tasty, I SWEAR it was a Cinnibon hidden under a topping. It was not the consistency of any bread pudding i’ve ever had. I may have to order it again to prove my theory. Maybe the thing to do is have a few appetizers and a cocktail because only 1 of the 6 of us truly enjoyed their meal and nothing was boxed to take home. As I related my experience, a few did say, “yeah, my wife said she thought the fish was frozen.” I understand you need to keep costs down, but at this price level, please do better. I will support you, but that might be in the form of Happy Hour.
