This is one of the best brunch places in the area. Everything is fresh and feels like homemade, scrumptious and mouthwatering. The owners and the team go above and beyond to make your visit memorable and exceptional. A mush try place and 100% recommended.

Delightful little cafe. Friendly welcoming staff. Service was excellent. Food was delicious and served quickly. Couldn’t ask for more from a brunch spot.
Additionally, if you’re looking for gluten-free options, the menu is filled with great choices. Wonderful little establishment.

An out of the way place that has fantastic food. I had the turkey Ruben (an item not on the menu but if you ask them they can make it. I tried my brother’s waffle and it was outstanding l. The item I wanted to try but didn’t was the Black Forrest Waffle that is very original and I will try that next time. Very friendly service and reasonable prices .Who can ask for anything more . It was my 1st time there but not my last.

Fantastic. We were greeted right away and sat right down on a Saturday 8am. The coffee was fresh and hot. The menu was very large for a breakfast place but I knew I wanted the Carrot Cake Waffle. I mean- come on!!! My dining companion had avocado toast because he’s vegan and he gets frustrated with avocados at home so he’s happy to order them out and have them be someone else’s problem. The waffle was great- with real carrots in it. Warning- it did have raisins. I know that’s a deal breaker for some carrot cake people. But the cream cheese drizzle was yummy! The service was quick. The food was great. The place was clean. And the atmosphere was super friendly and chill. Families started to come in as we were leaving – the bunny pancake was apparently a hot menu item. We paid less than $35 including tip. Why go to those other breakfast places like FW or Nudys? This place is great.

I was in the area and mapped “diners near me”. Glad this place came up. It was moderately busy, but I was seated immediately and had my order taken in minutes. The food was prepared quickly and was very hot(as I like) and the toast was fresh, hot and with the right amount of warm butter! Two large split sausage links were served with a lot of eggs and a ton of potatoes. This is a fairly classic breakfast, but have to say they give you way more here than most diners.
There was so much food I took some home!
Definitely worth going back.

First time having breakfast at EmJ’s Cafe. Reasonable wait time to be seated, and once seated not to long until waited on. Menu have good meal option, and was gluten-free friendly. I was able to get gluten-free pancakes, with an Apple compote. Very delicious.

It was our first time here today, a friend and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat before shopping down the road. We came in at 1pm. Cafe was full of other guests but we were seated promptly. The boy who got our drinks was very nice. While waiting for our server I noticed the sign on the door said they closed at 2pm. We didn’t know this initially, so we ordered immediately with the female server the moment she came over to save the staff time to close. My friend and I have worked in various restaurants for over a decade so we didn’t want to be “those people” who overstayed our welcome.
My food came out first around 1:20. While still waiting for my friend’s food to arrive, I asked the server if I could get a side of scrambled eggs. Without hesitation, she claimed the kitchen was closed in a very annoyed tone. I didn’t argue with her on it. I just said that was okay even though I noticed closing wasn’t for another 40 minutes. By the time they brought out my friend’s food it was 1:30. The waitress never asked how the food was or offered refills. She dropped the check off around 1:40 and said to pay up front. I asked if I could get a quick coffee refill before she left us. She sighed “sure” and walked off. She came back a minute later and said “actually no, we already dumped the coffee out”. Then she took off again before I could ask for a take out box. Funny enough, my friend who was facing the kitchen pointed out there was a visibly full glass coffee pot on the burner next to the bar.
I’m really not sure what my friend and I did to deserve the attitude and mediocre service. We ordered and ate very quick, didn’t stay past closing, and didn’t ask for any unnecessary requests. We were polite and respectful despite her refusal to get a refill or ask the kitchen for a side of eggs half an hour prior. While the food we did get was good, service was lazy and hostile for no reason. This has to be the first time I was ever tempted to leave no tip whatsoever.
As a server, I understand how quick you want to leave at the end of your shift but I was trained to always make sure guests felt welcome and comfortable as long as I was on the clock. It takes 5 minutes to dump a coffee pot and clean them. That’s not something that needs to be done 20 minutes before closing while you have guests still drinking coffee. It’s also not uncommon that the kitchen will stop serving food half an hour before closing but not all restaurants do this and so servers generally let guests know ahead of time to ensure all food is ordered on time. I’m aware servers don’t have control over the kitchen of course, but in situations where you can’t place an order for a guest, it helps to at least pretend to care or try. Like saying, “I believe the kitchen is no longer accepting new orders but I can double check.” Even if you don’t actually ask the kitchen (because you know they’ll say no anyway) it still makes a huge difference as far as impressions go from the guest’s perspective. If you just say no in a nasty tone, the guests don’t blame the kitchen, they blame the server who clearly hates their job.
It also doesn’t help that the older man working behind the bar kept commenting how he didn’t want anyone else walking in the whole time. Had we known the staff would have a passive aggressive meltdown about us coming in at 1pm, we would’ve left happier if we were turned away from the start. If you want better service and better food, go to Nudy’s Cafe or even IHOP. Charging $6 for two thin sausage patties should be felony lmao.

Just tried Em J’s for the first time and had a wonderful breakfast with my 3 year old. We were greeted warmly and seated right away. All of the food we ordered was delicious. From the simple pancake my son ordered, to the scrambled eggs (how do they make even simple eggs so savory?), bacon that was cooked to perfection, and French toast. Everything was excellent. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu items that were calling out to me. They have a super calming atmosphere and I also got a nice child-friendly vibe from the staff. Super cute kid menu items like the Banana Face & Rainbow Pancake. Highly recommend for the food alone but it’s got such a nice atmosphere on top of that.
