Enjoyed our first meal at Great Lakes this morning and will definitely return. We had two Great Lakes omelets, stuffed with flavorful corned beef hash, green peppers, onions and cheese. Hash browns perfectly cooked with a delicious crispy exterior and thick slices of buttered rye toast. My husband had a half pound cheeseburger and fries that had good char with a toasted bun. Service was fast and friendly. Loved the river view!

What an absolutely wonderful experience at Great Lakes Family Restaurant in Eaton Rapids! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home.

The restaurant has such a cozy and inviting vibe and to top it off, the view was absolutely beautiful on Sunday. It truly added something special to our meal. The food came out right on time, perfectly hot and fresh. Every dish we ordered was full of flavor, with generous portions that left us more than satisfied. You can really tell they care about quality and presentation here.

The prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially considering how much food you get and how great it tastes. The staff went above and beyond everyone was so kind, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed. It’s rare to find a place where the service, food, and atmosphere all come together so perfectly.

Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this place is a true gem in Eaton Rapids. I can’t recommend Great Lakes Family Restaurant enough we’ll definitely be coming back soon!

I went to Great Lakes Family Restaurant with my mom and my brother, and we had a really good time. The place felt cozy, and the staff was super nice. The food came out fast and tasted great, plus the portions were big.

It’s a chill spot for families, and we all enjoyed it. I’d definitely go back again ️

Dana is the best server! She makes this place amazing. With her awesome personality and ability to just bring this place alive. We had the other server in here and she was ok at best. I wish Dana worked more days! I would be in more often she was. The food here is really good and worth the price And delicious.

Nice, small, cozy, clean diner that is overlooking the river. It was a great view today with the first snow. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The service was fast but had to wait until all over our dishes were completely gone and had to ask for the check. Timing could be better. It was still slower as the Sunday crowd hadn’t come in yet.

The food is your average diner food. Steak omelette is yummy but the hash browns were barely cooked and still a little cold in the middle. Those could use a few more minutes. The pancakes were delicious. I was just super disappointed when they brought out the cheapest Walmart brand high fructose corn syrup for the syrup even still it the Great Value bottle. The top was nasty and sticky. Please consider an increase the syrup quality and/or add maple as an option (I’d even pay more to have some good quality maple syrup). The ketchup was also HFCS and super sweet. Aldi’s ketchup is cheap and better than whatever brand that was there. I would think a simple thing to make it more of a nice diner/breakfast spot is a few nicer things. Like syrup (the syrup appeal) maybe the little syrup dispensers instead, ketchup, maybe a homemade special like breakfast cinnamon rolls one the weekend. I really was expecting/hoping there to be a little more quality for a new restaurant in the area. Once I saw all the cheap things I assumed the quality of my food was also cheaper. Just my opinion and overall feel. I would consider going again when visiting town but it definitely isn’t the reason I’d be back to visit Eaton Rapids.

We had to try the new restaurant in town to get a first hand experience. We had a few people tell us it wasn’t a great experience for them when they visited and the reviews showed something very different, so we had to see first hand. We arrived and was told to sit where we would like. We chose our first option and upon sitting down, neither of us could sit comfortably. The space from booth seat to table wasn’t even large enough to fit a car seat, let alone a 6′ 225lb. man. So we moved to another seat in the restaurant. My girlfriend could sit comfortably and I was still pretty well wedged in, but hey all was fine. Our server comes to take our order after she had helped 2 other tables who sat after us. She was very loud and abrasive. Didn’t take our whole Order and I know this because when the food came (2 people ordered almost 6 minutes between each person receiving their meal) I asked where our pancakes were and she said “oh I didn’t put those in”. The food portions are as many said very generous! You get plenty of god for the money, however, the food is flavorless, the breakfast items we ordered were very flour forward in taste. For those who cook with flour, you know this means they didn’t cook the flour taste out all the way. The server also didn’t know what we ordered when delivering our food. Which was very strange for us. We eat a much as we can, again not because we had to, but because we were hungry and we are not the people to refuse to pay for what we ordered. Before we left my date had excused herself from the table while I finished the transaction with the server. As I waited for my dates return(yes I’m referring to my girlfriend) I heard in the booth directly behind me, the server say to a gentleman, “oh you stole my table! I’m gonna have to ask you to move, these 2 tables are reserved for my family that is about to walk in. Would you please take a seat at another table maybe over there” I was shocked! You tell someone to sit where they would like and then demand they move for your family to come sit where they want. Wow! During this final transaction with me I asked for a to go container, the server suggested 2 containers and I simply asked if they had one large one because I knew what we were doing with the remaining food. She looked at me and said, “you’ll get 2!” And walked away. I can only speak from our experience, but based on this visit, we will not likely ever visit this restaurant again.

I had such a wonderful experience at Great Lakes this Saturday! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and you can truly feel the family touch in everything they do. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a genuine, cozy dining experience in Eaton Rapids!

A peasant breakfast with large portions.
I tried the Great lakes omlette which was stuffed with corned beef, ham, green pepper, and onion. Oh, and cheese.
It was served with a large portion of crispy hash browns and a side of toast. I couldn’t even finish all of it.
Go support our local restaurant and give them a try. Its really good.
