This establishment is situated within a shopping district. Upon entering, we encountered a slight sense of disorientation, uncertain whether to take a seat or wait for a table to be assigned. Fortunately, the bartender, attuned to our confusion, informed us that we could settle in. While the server was occupied at another table, we settled down.
As we waited, we discovered the convenience of ordering our food via our mobile devices. However, we were not greeted for approximately five minutes. Eventually, the server approached our table and inquired whether we desired to place an order through our phones or if she should proceed with our request. Given the extended duration of our wait, we opted to order from our phones.
For beverages, we opted for iced Thai teas, which were exceptionally delightful. Our appetizer, Thai House dumplings, was satisfactory, earning a rating of 7 out of 10. My fiancé ordered Drunken noodles with a spicy level of “spicy,” which were quite palatable. However, my dish, the Yellow Roast Duck (medium spice level), emerged as the culinary highlight of the evening. It was generously portioned and accompanied by a side of white rice. The sole drawback was the exorbitant price of $38.95, a reflection of the current market conditions.
For dessert, we indulged in Mango Sticky Rice, which was satisfactory. Overall, while the dining experience presented a certain financial burden, it was an enjoyable experience nonetheless.

An Unforgettable Thai Sticky Rice Experience in Morehead City

From the moment we walked in, the experience at this gem in Morehead City felt like a warm embrace. The star of the night was Thai sticky rice, prepared to perfection and served with a level of care that turned a simple meal into a weekend highlight.

Jasmine, my server, was a joy from start to finish. Her genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel instantly welcome. She anticipated my needs with a smile, offered thoughtful recommendations, and checked in just the right amount of times to keep us comfortable without ever being intrusive. Beyond her excellent hospitality, Jasmine’s kindness and easygoing personality added a personal touch that made the whole evening special. It’s not every dining experience where you leave feeling like you’ve made a new friend.

The food itself was amazing. The Thai sticky rice was perfectly steamed—glossy, fragrant, and with the ideal chewy texture that kept each bite interesting. The accompanying flavors—savory, slightly sweet, and just the right amount of fragrant coconut—were balanced beautifully, showcasing a mastery of technique and a deep respect for the dish. Every element, from the aroma to the final bite, spoke of quality and care.

In short, this restaurant delivered not just a meal, but a memorable weekend experience. If you’re in Morehead City and craving authentic Thai flavors, this is the place to go. Highly, highly recommend—steam, flavor, and service that leave you grinning long after you’ve finished your plate. I can’t wait to return.

We had a lovely meal here. The waiter and the food were all excellent! It’s now one our favorite places to eat in the area.

I visited this restaurant today around 6:00 PM and had a very upsetting interaction with the blonde waitress on staff. I brought my 4-month-old service dog in training, Kuma. I’ve only had her for two weeks, and she is still very young and learning. She had a small accident on the floor, and I immediately apologized, took responsibility, and got down to clean it up myself.

Instead of showing any understanding, the blonde waitress said, “She’s not a service dog,” and then followed it with, “and she’s peeing on the floor,” as if the accident proved she wasn’t legitimate. I apologized again, told her Kuma is a baby in training, and apologized a second time — but she still repeated, once again, “She’s not a service dog,” essentially accusing me of lying. She then told me to remove the “animal” “immediately,” all in a cold, dismissive tone. She kept her voice low so other customers wouldn’t hear, but her attitude was harsh and lacked basic compassion. And I overheard her complaining to other employees and she was rolling her eyes and her body language was hostile. All is unacceptable. It was a baby having an accident (which is actually not normal for her).

For clarity, service animals (and service animals in training) are legally protected, including in North Carolina. A young service dog in training having an accident does not invalidate her status, especially at only four months old. Yes of course she had the right to ask us to leave; but ma’am, please be kind. There’s enough harshness in the world. My pup is my biggest happiness and I never intended to offend or disrupt any establishment in any way.

Without getting into personal details, I rely on Kuma for real reasons. Being accused of lying and spoken to like that — while I was already embarrassed and trying to clean up the accident — was extremely upsetting and triggered the very thing I have her to help me manage. A small amount of kindness would have gone a long way.

I do want to highlight that the brunette waitress and the owners daughter was wonderful — genuinely kind, warm, and understanding. Because of brunette waitresses kindness, I still left a good tip even though the interaction with the blonde waitress was so hurtful. Kuma is only four months old, and I’ve only had her for two weeks, but I was treated as if I was doing something dishonest despite doing everything possible to be responsible.

I truly hope the restaurant considers offering the staff member some training on compassion and professionalism, especially when a customer is clearly trying to do the right thing.

I wish I could simply write a good review about the atmosphere and food, but the service is what makes or break a business.

10/3- This is in response to the restaurant’s reply to my original review.

Let’s get the record straight. It was after 5:00, and the doors were still locked. Please don’t misrepresent what happened. I was there and know exactly when the doors were unlocked.

Next, I never complained about the curry being too spicy. The server asked what spice level I wanted, and I said mild. That was the entire exchange. At no point did I complain about the spice or the food’s flavor, so that statement in your response is simply inaccurate.

As for the $100 tip on a $48 bill, that was solely for Jasmine, who was the only person that made me feel genuinely welcome. She was friendly, attentive, and professional — everything you’d hope for in good service. That tip reflected her performance, not the overall experience.

The food was good, but good food alone doesn’t guarantee a great dining experience. When staff come across as indifferent or unapproachable, it takes away from the atmosphere. If everyone treated customers the way Jasmine did, this restaurant would absolutely earn the 5 stars it aims for.

I always support local restaurants and give fair feedback. But instead of acknowledging the points I raised, the management’s public reply felt defensive rather than receptive. True professionalism comes from listening, not deflecting. A little accountability goes a long way in keeping loyal customers.

Happy to support a local business, but this restaurant won’t do well if the front staff continues with the same unpleasant attitude. Other than Jasmine, most of the waitresses come across rude or uninterested whenever we visit. We’re never greeted, and the customer service feels more like an afterthought than a priority. They really need to take a course in basic hospitality and customer service—because good food only goes so far if people don’t feel welcome.

Food was great and been there many times. Service today was little off. Brought out the wrong appetizer it was for another table and than brought wrong appetizer again so I did not bother to send it back 3rd time since it was still delicious. No big deal. Just a little off today.

Service was good. The waitress was awesome. Portions were good. Food was mediocre. Thai food is a staple of mine, especially when I travel. I was suspicious when we pulled up at 8pm on a Saturday night and there was only one car. There was only one other family eating while we were there and no takeouts came through. The pad Thai looked like wet noodles with a side of peanuts. The drunken noodles were also wet mushy noodles with meat flavored heavily with white pepper. The red curry was perfectly spiced but lacked something. The panang curry did not have more than one vegetable. You have to ask for your tofu to be fried. The rice was under cooked and not sticky. I would say this is not the worst Thai food I’ve had but it is definitely in the bottom five. I’m not sure they care or put happy in their food.

Disappointed with portion size of Spicy Scallops dish, but I’m still giving 5 stars, all of us loved their food. Scallops were a bit small plus the to-go bowl was only half full.
My vegetarian wife got the yellow curry w tofu, and said it was the best she’s had. Spicy, so be sure to specify what you want.
Friend had vegetarian Pad Thai and thought it was a little bland at first bite. But came back to it as leftovers that night and said the flavors had really melded and it she loved it.
We also bought a bag of 8 “thai cookies” (pic). Slightly sweet, light crisp waffle-flower looking. Liked them, would get them again.

Just ordered the green curry with chicken lunch special to go. I upgraded to the fried rice. I brought it back to my desk to eat it and it’s amazing. I’ve been to Thailand and this is very authentic. I ordered it with 2 stars for spicy and it was perfect. I love spicy so I might try 3 stars next time but this was really good. They packed the food well in different take out containers. I wish the drunken noodles were on the lunch menu. That’s my second favorite thai dish. The restaurant is not easy to spot while driving. The sign just says thai restaurant and not the name of the restaurant. I recommend using GPS if you’ve never been. I passed it the first time. Restaurant was super cute inside and the employees were nice and helpful. I’ll definitely be back.

As some other reviewers have mentioned, it’s far from authentic Thai food.. I’ve just moved into town and you can definitely taste the lack of diversity in the local international cuisine. There’s so many staple Taiwanese flavors, textures, and colors that are missing in all of the dishes. This restaurants high rating had me hopeful, but I assume the locals don’t know any better………. Won’t be eating here again
