My husband and I came to Dixon from San Francisco to enjoy the Cool Patch corn maze and then came into town to grab a bite to eat.
Dawson’s is such a lovely bar and grill. I ordered the Creamy Tuscan Chicken and my husband ordered the Steak Sandwich. They are so good! ❤️ Very flavorful!
Our server, Amber, was amazing, too! She was super friendly and went above and beyond with our service. We didn’t have to ask for a single thing. Amber stayed on top of EVERYTHING while also being busy with other people.
This establishment is DEFINITELY worth the visit, if you aren’t already a local here in Dixon.
This place has been added to my list of favorite restaurants. ❤️

Cutest lil bar and grill in Dixon! The food was amazing, fantastic selection on the menu, and the waitresses were incredibly attentive and kind. 10/10 would highly recommend plus, the atmosphere was so Christmasy, all decorated for the holiday. So cute and inviting.

If you are on I 80 near Dixon California and you need a bite to eat don’t stop at the local drive thru. Do yourself a favor and go into town- just another mile or so and stop in at Dawson’s Bar and Grill. It has a varied menu – everything from breakfast ( till 2pm) hamburgers, salads, steak and more. I tried the Pulled pork sliders which came with the most delicious seasoned fries. My mother had fish and chips with the malted vinegar on the side and one of the best coleslaw we’ve ever had. Grandson had pepperoni pizza! All the food was served beautifully and quickly. Had we wanted a bar drink we could have ordered one up from the beautifully appointed and historic bar. The atmosphere was relaxed and it looked like there were a few local folks there enjoying lunch. As a first time visitor to Dawson’s we were all very pleased and we will definitely be back to sample more of their delectable fare.

I visited Dixon for my Niece’s wedding. After the rehearsal on Wed around 8:30 pm, my daughter and I were hungry and wanted to experience a fun, local place to eat. Dawson’s far exceeded our expectations. As soon as you walked in you could feel the buzz of happy customers enjoying good food. There is a bar there but they have a roomy yet cozy dining area. They have both high top tables and regular tables that seat 4 people. I ordered a fantastic pastrami sandwich that was a Reuben on a very fresh bagel bun. The fries were amazing too! They were seasoned with herbs and very lightly salted. My daughter raved about her wedge salad that was fresh, crisp and served with cherry tomatoes. They take great pride in their food. We were really thirsty so we did not order alcoholic beverages, but they kept my Arnold Palmers coming without me having to ask for refills. Dawson’s even smelled good, unlike some popular bar spots

Very loud and VERY cold. Two of us in our party were shivering.
The steak bites were full of gristle and not tasty because of that. Either get better quality meat, or don’t serve this option.
The fried pickles and our service were both very good.

Food is great. Recently increased their prices but that is expected due to gentrification (houses selling for 900k) and rising costs of everything. Water has a very strong earthy and metallic taste. I am used to well water, this is distasteful. Charge high prices, expect more perfection, hence the four stars. Will continue to come but may bring my own water.

Lunch date with my friend who I haven’t seen in person since before Covid! We needed somewhere to meet 1/2 between us and Dixon fit the bill. Our original choice of restaurant (The Frying Pan) turned out to be closed all weekend, so we walked down the street and found Dawson’s.
It was a good choice! Cute neighborhood place, with friendly staff. We shared Wasabi Deviled Eggs, Steak Bites and we both had Wedge Salads. With a couple glasses of wine.
The eggs had just a touch of Wasabi, not overwhelming. The steak bites had a good level of black pepper and the wedges were super crispy and fresh.

I asked a friend where to eat breakfast Dixon, she said Dawson’s or Buds. I flipped a coin and boy was this a winner! I had Huevos Rancheros, a waffle my wife had the California Omelet. Her omelet was fantastic she said EXCEPT that it wasn’t as hot as she would have preferred. Almost like they cooked hers first and then made my meal. For me, even though the carnitas in my Rancheros was super moisture and had perfect crisp and my eggs over medium burst with flavor from the dish….the waffle was by far the capstone. I ordered with fruit, but I normally am not interested, and I ordered no whip cream. So, I guess I am highlighting a second blunder when I say, they put whip cream on it. It was early Saturday, they just opened, we were the first and only being served blah blah….but you also only had 1 job In any case, that whip cream I expected to be fake and wimpy, came out looking thick like idk ice cream or something. It also happened to be the best mistake of my life! I totally wanted to just buy a tub of that stuff it was epic. The server said it was homemade, of course it was! I should mention she offered to replace the waffle, but when I saw the texture I declined as I was cautiously optimistic. Coffee btw was nothing restaurant gross about it. Very robust and great flavor. Came in charming mugs and they had no shortage of cream when we asked for them. The interaction was super friendly and endearing. Honestly I can see the warm Omelet and lack of whip cream omissions to earn 4 Sars not 5, but my opinion is to say otherwise as we truly enjoyed our food and experience. Rest assured, I will announce they need to work on food temp next time we go, and we definitely will be going again!

Some friends and I stopped by on a whim to grab a drink and some bites.
We came in around 2:40PM and there was plenty of seating.
We had great service and the food was pretty delicious. Happy hour was happening and they had pretty good deals on some food items.
I got the tot’chos. It was tater tots with coleslaw and barbecue pulled pork on top. It was really good!
I enjoyed a strawberry lemondrop. A little on the strong side, but who complains about that?
Definitely recommend and we’ll definitely go again.
