All told, I think this place deserves a slightly below 4-star rating (not because of the person serving me, but because of the other person I will mention below). But, again, Google doesn’t provide 1/2 and 1/4 star ratings options. Oh well.

Let’s face it. Unless you have a very unique palate, you are never necessarily “looking forward” to eating at a Subway. It serves a function. It does what it does. But this isn’t a place that you get excited about. This location is an easy choice when, lacking other options, you need a quick meal on a long coastal trip (it is open until 11:00pm too). This was my second visit in the last few years.

The place was reasonably clean when I came in at around 8:00pm. The worker on duty was busy doing some early cleaning in the dining area when I came in. She greeted me immediately when I entered. There was also another older woman (manager? owner?) who was working in the back when I arrived.

I ordered a salad and a sandwich. First, no black olives. Not sure why. Second, while the veggie section was reasonably clean, the meat section had a lot of overflow from one container to the next. I get it. Later at night. Close to closing. Some things slide. But that might be a turn off for some guests. Third, that woman in the back room started to bring out trays of bread. While doing so, she kept bumping into the woman helping me. Moreover, she kept wiping her nose with her hand (no gloves) while moving the bread around. Kinda’ yucky.

But I got the order I asked for. And my server said “have a good night” as I left. All things considered, that is a fairly good Subway encounter on the Oregon/California coast (and you could be going to the Subway in Crescent City).

Thanks to the server for being polite and providing me with a meal while on a long drive. The other lady? Wipe your nose in the back and/or use a glove while handling food. Lots of hygiene issues are a matter of perception (meaning: if we don’t see it, we don’t care). But, when you are in front of customers, we see what you are doing.

Overly negative Subway reviews are a chance to look into the depths of the person writing the review. Seriously. Read some of them. You get a sense of how this person lives their life and how what they expect out of a Subway (of all things) is a representation of what they think of the world. Some interesting stuff.

Stopped in after work around 8pm.
No one in the store. I yelled hello. Waited 3 minutes or so and yelled again. This time I got an I’m in the bathroom. Ok no worries wait a few more minutes. Then she comes out and grabs a recipe for a mobile order and tells me that it will be awhile. Then see started to lay out the paper for 4 subs. I bit my tongue and walked out.

They love to close early every night so if your gonna try and make it 20 minutes before they close might as well not because they will be closed I guess you have to show up at 1030 even though they close at 11

In terms of road food and not particularly recommended because it’s not easy to one hand. So just sit around and Munch on it and then get on the road?.

This Subway can’t ever make an order right. Third time ordering and sandwiches are made wrong. Took the sandwich back, and they remade using the wrong bread. Not ordering from here any more.

worst experience i’ve ever had in a subway, i’m usually a consistent subway customer and i’ve never experienced this level of unprofessionalism as well as just straight up health hazards, there was a man making sandwiches with a long beard (NO BEARD NET OR HAIR NET) he was constantly reaching over his coworkers and dragging his dirty sweatshirt in other people sandwich orders, the cashier had no idea what the #16 was when i told him my order (its listed on the menu directly behind him) and the bread was definitely over a day old it was so tough and hard to bite through, i honestly hesitated to eat it, but as a hungry customer i did anyways, and i must say. i will not be returning here ANYTIME soon. disgusted and appalled.

We pre-order our sandwiches every time and the order never comes through till pickup time. Then we wait for the order to be assembled. This is why we stopped ordering online. But deals are available online SUCKS

Placed an online order at 8pm on a Wednesday night. Was told that my order would be ready in 20 minutes, which is about 15 minutes longer than other locations. When I pulled up, there was 1 car leaving the drive-thru, there was a couple waiting for their online order, and a customer being helped. Although there were 3 people in the store, only one seemed to be making sandwiches and not one acknowledged my presence. After 10 minutes (6 minutes after my sandwich was supposed to be ready) the guy making them finally acknowledged me. When I gave my name for the order, he started to make it. It’s unacceptable that I had to wait a half hour for my sandwich with 3 people working on a slow Wednesday night. 2nd worst Subway I’ve been to (and I’ve been to a lot)

If I wanted a veggie sandwich I would have ordered a veggie sandwich. Instead I got all veggies and 2 slices of roast beef on a foot long roast beef. I had to dig through the entire thing to even find if I had any roast beef. Mashed avocado? Smeered on the outside. Next time I’ll make sure to go in, if there’s a next time so I actually get what I order.
