Whether you’re a foodie or you just want a fun place to go with friends awash Ethiopian cuisine is a great choice. I went with a group of friends and it did not disappoint. The food was flavorful and there were enough options so that our entire group could find something whether they were vegetarian or had zero spice tolerance. The ambiance was great with the area decorated up to the gills and creates a really nice vibe and even though it was empty when we went there was great energy.

This is an experience you don’t want to miss. The building is a little humble and in need of some TLC but the food itself, the service, and the experience are really cool and unique. Try the honey wine and lamb tibs.

Lancaster is lucky to have this gem…Very delicious authentic Ethiopian food. The owner was very nice and served us a large sharing platter, as my friend and I ordered differently and could share..the bread was very good, using it to scoop up the food. I ordered lamb tibs, served with cabbage and potatoes, yellow, green and red lentils, green beans and carrots..a hearty amount of food, my friend ordered the chicken, with similar sides..
There were 2 hand washing stations to wash up before eating..the restaurant is nicely decorated with beautiful items from Ethiopia..I highly recommend this restaurant.

I would like to clarify that my favorable assessment is not solely based on my Ethiopian heritage; rather, it stems from my comprehensive understanding of the authentic culinary experience we offer. I was fortunate to be raised with a strong appreciation for quality and tradition. The dishes we serve are not only exceptional but are also prepared with the utmost care and efficiency, ensuring that each meal is packed thoughtfully.

Ethiopian cuisine, known for its rich flavors, indeed requires time to prepare properly, which is essential for achieving the best taste. Under the new management, I have seen significant improvements in our service quality. Each team member is dedicated to upholding the cherished traditions of Ethiopian culture.

I invite you to visit and savor their finest offerings. To the management team, I commend you on your ongoing efforts. Strive for continuous improvement in all aspects, including time management, customer ambiance, and the selection of music. It is important to serve our guests with humility and maintain a clean environment. Excellent work thus far—keep up the great momentum.

Delicious food. Compared to other Ethiopian restaurants I have been, the food is flavorful and not overly wet or greasy. The restaurant is well set up with hand-wash sinks in the dining area. Recommend asking the waiter for more injera.

Ambiance is beautiful and so spacious! Food is excellent. We got the vegetarian combo platter and it was simple delicious! Full of flavor and the injera is soft and fermented perfectly (not too tangy at all). The honey wine was smooth and not too sweet. And the Ethiopian specialty coffee is definitely something to try! Service was fantastic and very friendly!

Awash Ethiopian Cuisine is a must-visit for anyone craving incredible Ethiopian food. The owners create a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. During our visit, we indulged in Doro Wot, a succulent chicken dish simmered with onions, spicy berbere, garlic, and ginger, paired perfectly with a boiled egg. We also enjoyed Kitfo, which features finely ground prime beef expertly spiced with Mitmita, a flavorful hot pepper, served alongside vibrant collard greens and homemade Ethiopian cottage cheese. To top it all off, we savored the best Ethiopian coffee. I can’t recommend Awash highly enough; it’s an experience you don’t want to miss!

After being introduced to Ethiopian food last year, we were excited to discover an Ethiopian restaurant closer to home. This restaurant is wonderful! Everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly.

Go for an experience but it’s not the most proper dine in experience.

Service was kind.

Food was ok. Honey wine was very unique and flavors of the food were rich.

We had a difficult time digesting it and got a bit sick.
We also found it overpriced for the quality of food we were served.
