Another nice meal. I got the mini chicken eggrolls and chicken satay as appetizers and they were delicious and Rama chicken for my main dish which was great too with the nice peanut sauce. They really don’t serve a lot of drinks but I was able to get a small bottle of moscato. Of course I can’t leave without my mango stick rice which was awesome

Listen, this place is a gem! Seriously more people should eat here. The food is made fresh and you can tell its from scratch(family recipes). The chicken pad Thai was soooo good and the chicken satay as an appetizer was perfect for me. It’s a small place but worth a trip there to sit down and chill.

UPDATE: Joy of Thai will close for about a month or so starting about October 27.
No, they are not going out of business. The owner will travel to their native country to tend to family matters. I hope things go well with them and the family. I offered to do the cooking while they were away. She didn’t take me up on my offer. Oh well…their loss.

I had a bright idea of ordering a few items and keep them in the freezer. This should tide me over while they are away.

I hope they have a safe trip and return quickly. They are really nice people.

We had a taste for Thai food and today we decided to try someplace different.

Joy of Thai is one of three similar type restaurants nearby. Located on the south side of 179th street just east of Wolf Road. It is in a small strip mall, being one of three occupants. We pass by it all the time.

Having tried and being unsatisfied with the other restaurants we had eaten from before. This visit was out very first.

To keep things simple we ordered pork fried rice and pineapple fried rice, a vegetable dish. Both dishes were prepared fresh, were very tasty, and presented in a different style of dish whereby we could actually see what we purchased. The seasoning used reminded my of Indian food with a slight use of curry. Everything was delicious and I can’t believe I consumed the entire dish; each serving was a few hours apart of course.

Would I recommend them? Absolutely.

The carryout experience was smooth and easy. Give them a try. You will enjoy it.

The gastronomic experience at “Joy of Thai” uplifted our deflated souls on a stormy soir in late spring. Moreover, direct your gaze towards the image. In all likelihood, you find that you are muttering to yourself, “I’d eat that: it has an appealing appearance.” Only a fraudulent wisp of a man would disapprove of this charming establishment.

Food is fresh. Service is fast. True authentic Thai food. The space is very intimate and very clean. Prices are reasonable ranging from $4 – $15 on most menu items.

Wonderful service. We had to dash because I’d lost my ring (we found it if your reading! Haha) so they very swiftly packed up our food and were so sweet. I loved the panang noodles and my husband enjoyed the chicken basil rice.

Small place so if you’re not good with niche spaces you might not like the local. Friendly staff and the food was amazing. I had the yellow curry and added eggplant that was sumptuous! Will definitely go again.
