Another fantastic stop on the WPB Food Tour was Sassafras, and it did not disappoint! The shrimp and grits were incredibly flavorful—rich, perfectly seasoned, and comforting in every bite. You could really taste the care put into the dish. And the drinks were absolutely delicious—refreshing, well-crafted, and the perfect complement to the food. A must-visit spot with serious Southern charm!

If you’re looking for a fantastic brunch spot, do yourself a favor and visit Sassafras! Start your meal with the “Just Baked Cheddar Biscuits”—they’re absolutely the bomb and served just out of the oven! You won’t regret it. I also ordered the chicken and waffles, which was a great choice and perfectly delicious.
The place was busy, but it was definitely worth it. Sassafras is a great spot to brunch on a Saturday or Sunday, and on your way out, you can enjoy a stroll through the street market nearby (October Season). Highly recommend!

We chose this establishment for a Sunday brunch, having made reservations as a precaution, although the venue was not at full capacity upon our arrival. Opting for outdoor seating to enjoy the pleasant but slightly chilly weather, we found the outdoor chairs lacking both aesthetic appeal and comfort. The availability of bottomless mimosas at an attractive price was a noteworthy feature, even though the potency may not induce a noticeable effect after four glasses due to a judicious ratio of juice to alcohol.
Commencing our culinary journey with the cheddar biscuits, I highly recommend this appetizer for its delightful taste. We ventured into the classic dishes— the chicken and waffle, and the double cheeseburger. The cheeseburger stood out as delicious, a potential reason for a return visit. Regrettably, the chicken and waffle fell short; its sweetness, attributed to a maple glaze, rendered the waffle soggy, and the thinness absorbed excessive sweetness, making it challenging to consume. Additionally, the chicken, coated in a sweet maple glaze, lacked discernible flavor. Despite this, the service was commendable, and the restaurant exuded a fitting Sunday brunch ambiance. I look forward to returning to explore other offerings on the menu.

The venue itself is super nice, modern and light. Bar set up is pretty small but good enough. We came for brunch on a Sunday and it was half way packed in the restaurant. I like that you can see the chef cook and there is an open kitchen therefore, you know exactly what you are getting and you even have options to tip chefs. The food was OK. I wouldn’t say great. The fried chicken and waffles were a solid three out of 10 there was no seasoning on the chicken which made it pretty hard to eat. The spicy maple syrup was just regular syrup. They charged $10 for two biscuits as a side which was on the expensive side and I will say the biscuits were good the onion jam that it came with was fantastic. Do I think it’s worth $10 absolutely not. For two biscuit that is kind of crazy. My husband been ordered the cheeseburger and that was cooked very well. The food came out very fast which I was surprised about. I ordered the bottomless Mimosas was underwhelmed with how they refill it. Our server seemed like she was always in a rush and running around. I never even got to tell her to take back the chicken and waffles because she would simply come and then run away very quickly. You can see the food runners working extremely hard. Overall I would give it another try. But I’m not dying to return or tell my friends bout this place. There are also no coasters so our entire table was wet and slippery because of the plastic material of the table. I found myself constantly wiping it with my own napkin.

Our large group came in unannounced in between lunch and dinner. Our host greeted us and got us set up with two large table sections. Our host was great. The staff was nice and accommodating, seeing as though this was an impromptu lunch with some of our party coming directly from the airport.
The atmosphere was definitely New Orleans with a Florida flair. They have some really cool light fixtures with nice decor.
The food was AMAZING!!! We were in a large group, so we must have ordered 3/5ths of the menu. I only ordered the gumbo (which was delicious, by the way). Before I knew it, hot food was coming from every direction, and I tasted everything! The cheddar biscuits were the best I’ve ever had, and that jam should have poetry written about it. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. The shrimp was great. There was this Ceaser side salad that the person sitting across from me had, and it was the most photogenic salad I’ve ever seen. Lol, the food was so good that we applauded the chefs. I don’t think anyone left there without a full belly.
In short, Sassafras is a must try if you’re in the Palm Beach area. The staff, the food, and the atmosphere were all great. I can’t wait to go back.

My party dined in on lobster night (a 2-4-1 special during their slowest month – Sept) and the food was beyond exceptional! Our lobsters were fresh and steamed to perfection. The sides were also delicious. We tried the Brussels sprouts, macaroni and cheese, corn, potatoes, and cheddar bay biscuits. I also had a delicious mocktail called Autumn Sunset. We dined outside and our server Nikita C was friendly, efficient, and professional. The 2-4-1 lobster dinner is an amazing deal and I hope they continue to offer it. The atmosphere was relaxing and romantic. I highly recommend sitting outside on the sidewalk if the weather is nice!

TOP 100 USA RESTAURANT ACCORDING TO YELP – been here multiple times now, and genuinely love the place, incredible food comes out of a tiny kitchen!!!! Limited wine list, but what they have is a solid selection at reasonable pricing. Happy hour is great, 50% off drinks and a number of very well priced eats incl both apps and main courses. Shout out to Sharon, the new GM who seems to have a good handle on solving prior service issues. Best weekend Brunch spot in West Palm Beach in my view!!!
