Our first experience was not so great so we waited a few months and tried it again and it was a big disappointment. I love the flavor of their bang bang shrimp tacos but their portions are super skimpy. I got 1 shrimp per tortilla. My 2 year old loves Mac and cheese so we ordered that for her with a side of fruit. As you can see by the picture I posted, the Mac n cheese looked like they used an ice cream scoop to dish it out and it was all mush, didnt even look like noodles and she refused to eat it because it looked gross. Their idea of a side of fruit was mandarin oranges and no other fruit. I won’t be coming back to a place that over charges for skimpy portions and lacks appeal, I didnt think you could mess up Mac n cheese but I was wrong. Don’t waste your time or your money you will leave angry and hungry!

My husband and shared the ribeye steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. It was tender and very flavorful. Our server was fantastic. Polite and very accommodating. We will definitely visit here again on our next visit to Wyoming. Yum.

Decent food and prices. I ordered French onion soup and fried walleye tacos. The soup was nice, but needed a little more salt to be perfect. The mango salsa on the tacos was too spicy for me, but what’s new with my frail Minnesota taste buds? The walleye itself was moist and crispy, so that was lovely. Service was attentive with drink refills. A fine stop on the road.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Railyard in November was unacceptable and concerning.

I ordered a dirty martini- a drink I order regularly and know well. This one was undrinkable. It tasted strongly of chemicals rather than olive brine. Everyone at the table tasted it and agreed something was clearly wrong.

From the start, the waitress seemed visibly upset or irritated, and interactions felt tense rather than welcoming. That made it harder to speak up, but the drink was undrinkable. I normally avoid confronting restaurant staff and felt anxious doing so, but I did let the waitress know and asked to switch to a glass of wine instead.

Shortly after, my food arrived. I ordered chicken, and after a few bites something felt off. When I checked, the chicken was COMPLETELY raw in the middle. Both chicken breasts on my plate were raw, and I had already eaten some of it. This was not slightly undercooked, the chicken was raw in the middle This is not a minor mistake-serving fully raw chicken is a serious food safety issue.

When I mentioned it to the waitress, before I could finish my sentence (“my chicken is…”) she interrupted and said, “It’s raw?!” which suggested this may not have been an isolated incident. While she offered to replace the meal, I declined, having already lost my appetite and confidence in the kitchen. She remained in a noticeably bad mood our entire time there.

Between the chemical-tasting cocktail, the raw chicken, and the tense, uncomfortable service, the experience was deeply disappointing. Mistakes happen, but multiple serious issues in one visit point to larger problems with quality control and attention to basic standards.

I won’t be returning, and I’d urge others to be cautious.

Everything about this restaurant is wonderful (Leslie specifically is amazing!!!), besides the food. Every time I order food there is something wrong and quite often inconsistent. Servers are always wonderfully kind, but I feel as though for the past two years, my family and I have not received quality food that has had any care put into it. We have received everything from burnt to raw foods, misdone orders, and foods nothing like what the menu describes them to be. It feels as though the kitchen puts out low quality food in hopes that the service and atmosphere will make up for their low quality work.

Another great find using Google Maps. This restaurant is tastefully decorated around the theme of the rich railroad history of the town. The food here was delicious with several unique menu options. The service was excellent and our server made great recommendations. The restaurant was very clean. There is plenty of free street parking.

I ORDERED “Dry Aged Ribeye..medium” What I actually got was 2 filet mignons. SUBSTANTIAL DIFFERENCE IN COST…AS MY BETTER HALF SAID AT LEAST THEY ARE BETTER THAN A CHUCK WAGON. Might as well have been This is the 2nd time Railyard has not delivered. The last time the young lady at the bar whom took my “To Go” orders tried to talk us out of the 45 day aged steaks AND asked if we could “afford” them When I personally went in, to talk to the manager. The manager rolled their eyes, said they weren’t available to the hostess AND to call. I called and it went to voicemail. She called me 5 days later and left a voicemail message. Once again I went in personally and she told the hostess to get my info AND I have never heard back. I have called the corporate office and they clearly don’t care as they never returned my multiple messages. It just makes it easier to give Prime Rib our business. Gillette may be very transient, but we are very local. Word of mouth goes a long ways.

I tried to post my images with a review on Door Dash, but it didn’t work so posting here. We ordered food the other night. My husband’s was fine, but mine and my son’s burgers were raw. I cut his in half like I always do and it was red. I thought maybe it was just medium so I tried to microwave it (nuke it) and it started bleeding all over the plate. So I cut mine and even before I did I saw blood soaked through the bun. Well it was raw. Completely mushy and cold raw burger. I was disgusted and so upset because it was 8pm and I wasn’t about to try and get another burger and eat at 9:00. So we ate the fries which were cold and I quickly made my son something else to go with it. I got door dash to refund for the burgers, I had to actually contact them to get more than $5. It was just disgusting. For as much as they charge, I expect my food to be edible. What’s even worse is I ordered “well done-no color” and they were the polar opposite. I won’t be eating here again for a long time which sucks because I normally love this place, I even had my bridal shower here a few years ago. I didn’t call the restaurant to complain because it was late and I was distracted making my son something else to eat.

As a local, I usually recommend this restaurant to people. After last night’s dining experience, I would recommend people to Perkins or McDonald’s for a better meal. I ordered the steak tips and got a plate of fat and gristle mixed with rice that was scooped on my plate as if it was slid off the kitchen floor with a spatula. My wife ordered the bacon wrapped filet, medium. It was rare. Nobody checked to see if the steaks were good. Service, what service? It’s really disappointing to spend a good deal of money in the effort to have a nice evening out, and be thoroughly disappointed.

The food was down right terrible. We were with a bus tour of about 25 people. I could not believe what they served me. I ordered a simple grilled chicken sandwich. My best guess is that the chicken was cooked days earlier, taken out of the fridge and was microwaved. I know that is a bold thing to suppose but the chicken was inedible. Others at my table reported how terrible their food was too. Based on the other good reviews I can only figure that the restaurant serves bus tours differently than they do the locals. You might ask why I did not simply send it back. There simply was no time. We were on a strict time limit and if I did I likely would not have received my food in time. This treatment is unfortunate as the tour I was on gives this restaurant lots of business as it is repeated throughout the season. I will say our waitress was nice and the place had a nice vibe.
