Best down home style, Americana restaurant I’ve been to in the area! Great atmosphere, great food, great folks, and great service! I would highly recommend this place to anyone trying to get away from the corporate chains and into a place you can really relax and enjoy a meal with friends an family. Great prices for generous portions. The food came out faster than you can smoke one down! Two thumbs up for Pappy’s!!

Good food. Good prices. This place has not changed much in the last 30 years. Was always a staple for those late night meals. Smoking is allowed in this establishment, so there is a strong smell of nicotine when you walk in the door. If you’re okay with that, I recommend this place is a good breakfast stop

This is a diner, an old fashioned dinner. People smoke in here, food is old fashioned, and it’s an older crowd of people for a reason. People have been coming here for years. It holds sentimental value for some, memories for others, and simply a place to have a smoke while eating a good meal for the select few. It’s a home town diner and the service is great. The food is cooked just like my grandma cooked it. This diner is not for everyone, but for those of us who like to remember our childhood and eat like we use to, this is our diner. Read the other reviews you’ll find it split down the center. Most of the bad reviews are from those who did not know what they were walking in to. I love Pappy’s simply because of what it is, old fashioned.

Not many Mom & Pop Diners left. Can’t beat the price. One of a few places left where you can smoke. Very courteous staff. The gathering place for friends and neighbors, especially for breakfast and lunch. Really enjoy seeing my buddies over the last 35 years.

I’ve never eaten there, my husband says the food is good, but from my eyes I was shocked to see people smoking inside. The cooked didn’t wash her hands or change her gloves at all. To many things being touched with gloved hands to go back to touching food with the same gloves. It’s needs to be overhauled and deep cleaned. On a positive note the staff was very friendly.

Yes, you can smoke here. The food here is also pretty darn good in spite of the fact that they have an updated since 1979. If they were to update the place I would have given it a 5. On the other hand if you’re not a smoker or you have put the Habit down you may not want to go there. The staff is always friendly. Always.

Food was fairly good, service was good. Hope you’re ok with lung cancer because the thick air of cigarettes will punch you in the face as soon as you open the door. That will be accompanied by the mold smell, likely coming from the copious amounts of water damage on the ceiling. Thats not even really the most interesting part…you’ll know it when you get there though.

People are NOT friendly if your no a regular. They serve your plates with thumbs in your food. Watched the ” cook” wipe his hands on his clothes after wiping his sleep over his forehead and nose. The food literally tastes like the stagnant cigarette smoke. Tiles in ceiling are absolutely gross. The only way this place passes inspection is by knowing someone threw generations of it being there. ( opinion) sad really. Oh and it’s a family place. If you want your child’s young lungs to get second hand cancer in one sitting.. it’s the place to be Literally this place could be cleaned up, cooks should be aware on their hygiene and behaviors, not to mention the way the handle food could cause cross contamination issues

I would love love love to write this review! Pappy’s , it’s a little place kinda out of the way. When I got there I didn’t know what I was gonna be walking into. This place is a little slice of home.from the price friendly menu to the amazing people it’s a like walking into a episode of cheers. The food was really cooked not just dropped in a deep fryer or un frozen.from the adorable little elderly couple holding hands having coffee to the older men talking about love and weather it was right out of a dream.not only will I go back but if you are close you should stop in. I had a cheese burger and fries and a tea it was mind blowing worth every cent. After all that I want to bring something up. On the wall next to the booth we got. Was a huge group of photos. Out of every good thing I have had to say about the place I want to talk about the over all pride they showed in the wall they marked for family. I don’t have a family. That had to be the most heart warming thing I’ve ever seen. Years and years of their family tree so proudly hung on the wall with care.you could really see how much they poured into that place the love the place has. You can’t get that at a Wendy’s or a chain place. Trendy is for the numb. That place is sublime. I’m glad it was shown to me. I smiled all day after going.thanks for having such a cute little place

I was anxious to try this restaurant as we LOVE Mom & Pop places. Was very disappointed to read about the smoking. I thought that was outlawed. They should care more about non-smokers health than pleasing the smokers. If you can’t stop smoking for 1-2 hours, stay home!
