Let me explain the journey of the cubano from Fremont bar and grill. It took ying & yang and made it Ying, Yang, Yung, and Yong…
Firstly the bread. Perfectly thin, crisped up nicely, and adds a little flake-y carb to the sandwich.
Then you taste the pulled pork. It brings a nice smokiness with a touch of that traditional barbecue sweetness. Not too much though, because it doesn’t wanna steal any light from the star of the show.
The ham. That sweet, tender ham flavor we crave on a cubano arrives in spades.
Meanwhile, you have the cheese bringing the comforting, velvety saltiness that cubano enjoyers desperately crave.
As that melds with the meets, you’ll notice the tender pickle bringing tanginess; a little side of attitude that makes you think, is this a Cubano or a Cubana? Uplifting.
Then on your next bite, the subtle, conservatively spread mustard gives a kick. A rush of confidence that this sandwich IS yours and not vice versa. Defeat is not an option, and the sandwich’s attitude is all a facade.
Because deep down, it’s just a tenderhearted people pleaser that will not be satisfied until you’ve eaten every bite of pork, cheese, bread, pickle, and mustard…
And that’s exactly what I did… And y’know what? I’ll do it again…
Prices are reasonable, my wife said the philly was good too.
RESPONSE to Owner comment: Fair enough, my comment was made after just one visit which is unfair. I apologize to your customers also for my condescending, unjustified opinion. I’ll give you another try sometime and hopefully will have a better experience.
Came back for the Bears preseason game, and this time we ate — and wow. The nachos were massive, perfectly stacked, and loaded edge to edge. Chicken tenders were crisp, golden, hand-battered, and juicy, with sauces on the side. The chili looked hearty and spot-on.
But the burger? That’s the showstopper. Fresh, hand-formed, juicy, cooked just right. Honestly, it’s the best burger I’ve had in a very long time. Fries came out hot and crisp, exactly how they should.
Service was excellent again — Katrina was friendly, quick, and attentive without hovering. Between the food, the service, and the atmosphere, this place has me hooked. I’ll be back on Sunday, and probably a lot of Sundays after that.
Was really hoping for a wow factor from this new bar replacing the old but sadly it is not to be.
The place was remodeled but still felt like the old place for some reason with the bar moved to a new location.
The eating area is an open space cafeteria feel with softer lighting, tables of different heights and no booths (none were seen in the eating area that I saw.)
Sadly the music and the televisions were so loud you could only hear the person next you and maybe they are trying to get a club feel vs a sports bar? This place did have different age groups but I feel this will become the 20 something place to hang out at.
The drinks seemed reasonably priced (this is just for your info) they do not offer common alcohol brands such as Bacardi rum etc but they did have a brand I never heard of which seemed fine in my drink.
The food was reasonably priced but you did pay for extras
We ordered
Nacho Supreme = Chips with canned pumped cheese on top and minimal toppings, don’t waste your money
Steak wrap = didn’t taste any additional ingredients listed on the menu and the meat tasted like processed compressed perfectly cubed shaped beef
Classic Burger = The burger was okay
The wait staff was great always checking on you but we did eat at the bar so I do not know how service was in the restaurant area
Was hoping for a new wow place to go, the hunt is still on
The atmosphere and menu choices are typical sports bar and grill. There are a mix of high top tables and regular tables. Everyone should be able to find something on the menu to their liking. I chose the Melt Burger. It really was delicious. Very juicy, soft marbled bread, melted swiss and soft grilled onions. I was disappointed in the fries. To me, they just didn’t taste that good. I ate a few but left the rest. My husband got the chicken noodle soup and a side salad. Both were good.
It’s very disappointing to see that somebody would act this way as a business owner.
! I enjoy my time there playing Golden Tee with my buds
