Great hibachi in Moorestown. Great family friendly fun for kids. Food is great and the experience is awesome.

I’ve been a loyal regular at Akira for five years, and for the vast majority of that time, they were my go-to for everything Japanese. From their pristine sashimi and fresh sushi to the flavorful hibachi, rice, and noodle dishes, the kitchen has historically been top-tier.
However, over the last year, there has been a significant and disappointing shift in the quality of their sushi rolls.
Lately, the fillings seem to consist of a strange, pulverized “paste” or mush rather than distinct, fresh ingredients or actual fish. It lacks any texture and creates an unappetizing mess that just collects on the plate. It’s reached a point where the rolls are essentially inedible.
I still have a lot of respect for their hot kitchen and traditional cuts, but I’ve reached my limit with the rolls. I’m sorry, Akira, but until the quality of the rolls returns to what it used to be, I’m done ordering them.

I’d go back. It was crowded but easy seating at the counter in front of where the sushi is prepared. Dinner and a show. We ordered the sushi and sashimi combo. It was great and super quick. The server was very attentive.

It was my first time there. The day after valentine’s with my wife of 33 years. It was a lot of food a lot more than I expected, but we had a wonderful time. Very well decorated.
And the retro heights design with the lighting on the walls was really warm,The atmosphere was right on point. Very nice place, I would do it again. I highly recommend it for medium and small groups.

We came here for dinner on Saturday and after drinking a few glasses of wine I left my purse at the restaurant. The craziest part about it is I didn’t even notice until I got a phone call from the restaurant two days later! They went above and beyond to find me and find my phone number to let me know they had my bag. That speaks volumes in my book and to add to it all the food we had was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back to support an honest business like this one

I have been going to Akira for years and have never had a bad meal here. They are always consistent and the fish is fresh and great quality. Andy and Lisa treat us like family, as well as their entire staff. I highly recommend the yellowtail jalapeño and the sushi dumpling (off menu item). Both are to die for! Go check them out!

Akira is truly an exceptional restaurant. The food ( especially the sushi) is outstanding! The service friendly, efficient and anticipates your needs. The decor is beautiful. Akira is a rare jewel.
What makes it stand out above all else is the value. The highest quality ingredients expertly prepared at a great price point! A culinary trifecta.
