Went out for a date night tonight with my husband and we decided to check out Sawa Japanese steakhouse! We’ve never been, so figured why not give it a try! From the moment we walked in we were greeted with hospitality and smiles! Our server Tim recommended his favorites to us and gave us a run down of the drinks and the menu! Quick service and friendly staff all around! Tim definitely went above and beyond to ensure we never had an empty cup and checked on us throughout our meal to ensure we were enjoying it! Definitely a great date night spot and be sure to ask for Tim as your server! He had a great personality and all around great attitude towards everything!

My friend was craving for some Ramen and asked me to come with him. I’m so glad he brought me here because the food was exceptional. I come from Hawaii where Japanese food is ubiquitous and this place did not disappoint. We both ordered the Tonkutsu Ramen. It was great. Will probably come back without him lol I’m just kidding. The place was clean and the service was great. Highly recommend.

Sawa in Forest is definitely a gem! My wife and I drive from Bedford on our days off together and have lunch a few times a month. The menu is big and we’re chipping away at it slowly! Our favorites so far are the Georgia roll, along with the sesame chicken and General Tso’s chicken hibachi lunch combos.
Everything is flavorful and you can taste the time and care put into the food. Especially the amazing crisp on the chicken and sweet/savory tang of the sauces. Definitely not the average mushy take-out you’ll find most anywhere.
We finish our meal off with their delicious bubble milk tea for the road. I’ve had this all over, in many different states and this is some of the best! Addictive and refreshing. The Thai and strawberry are our favorites so far, but I’m sure we’ll try the rest.
We haven’t met the owner yet, but Tim and the waitresses are great! Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We’re looking forward to bringing more friends and family here.

My first time going there with my husband and daughter and we were ḥooked. My daughter who’s usually picky ate veggie fried rice without complaining or picking out the veggies. The portion sizes were enormous. Have food for the next two days. I’m still full. Try them out, you won’t regret it.

Food was good for portion size and price but you cant customize anything. Had 3 seperate waitress first one was great sweet an understanding the second didnt even smile seemed rude had to be told 3 times to refill our drinks by the guy running the register. Then I over heard the girls whispering to a 3rd waitress to bring us the updated tab because they gave us the wrong one. The atmosphere was not great didnt not feel welcome at all.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and easy to talk to—they truly made the whole dining experience enjoyable. The food was outstanding! Everything tasted fresh, especially the sushi, which was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Each bite showed the quality and care that goes into their dishes.
The hibachi and steak were cooked to perfection, and the presentation was just as impressive as the taste. It’s clear that Sawa takes pride in both their food and service

The food is really good. We’ve been twice now and each time we have had a little variety. A sushi roll + a non-seafood meal.
The sushi is really good. Some of the best I have eaten. The rice it really nice, not too sweet and not too vinegary. Not too sticky, but sticky enough to hold together well. The rolls are made to order so the seaweed doesn’t get soft and difficult to chew. The toppings are perfect. The fish is fresh and well seasoned. The sauces are delicious. The combinations work.
The other items we’ve tried have been really good too. The katsu was crispy, but not overcooked. The veggies were yummy. The curry sauce was nice, though a little sweeter than we prefer. That’s personal preference and they offer sriracha. The dumplings and dipping sauce were delicious and the ramen was super fun. Very good broth, especially the spicy pork. The yum yum sauce is indeed yummy.
Service the first time we went was 5/5. This time we were greeted by a new employee learning the ropes. And while today’s service started at a 3, the rest of the staff quickly stepped in to support their new team member and brought it up to a 4.5. I was really impressed that the staff took the time to coach the new person through the challenges and praise what they did right. I suspect, that while like everywhere else it is hard to find workers, this place probably has low turnaround.

Been here a few times as well as ordering delivery multiple times. The staff is MOSTLY FRIENDLY. The orange chicken is delicious. The Korean chicken is decent. The shrimp Mei fun is so good! It’s my favorite item on the menu. They also have really good Korean corn dogs. The egg rolls are decent. I’ve only had a few items I didn’t really care for here.
