Some places just stick with you
The Scoop is one of those places. From the very first visit with my mom, I felt the warmth the second we walked in. The 50s vibe, the nostalgia, the feeling of being transported back to a simpler time—it instantly reminded me of going to an ice cream shop as a kid and getting Play-Doh and a sugar cookie.
I casually shared that memory once… and they remembered. Not only did they order Play-Doh, but they remembered me and my order the next time I came in. I have never felt so seen or special in a local shop.
New flavors every visit, genuine care for their customers, and the kind of hospitality that builds real community. I stopped in again tonight and I already know I’ll be back soon.

Four cars waiting for 3pm and the owners opened early to serve each car full! Always offering smiling faces, delicious ice cream, tastiest waffle cones and the best guest service! Highly recommend!

Family night out in Mount Pleasant ended perfectly at this little ice cream shop. It was SO good — the service was truly 10/10. We were offered tons of samples, and the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming.
I went with Sugar Cookie + Cake Batter, the kids went with traditional chocolate– all were amazing! We’ve heard nothing but rave reviews and this place lived up to the hype. Such a sweet way to end the night with my favorite people. We’ll definitely be back!

The owners at By The Scoop are extremely friendly, and generous with both samples and portions. The old-school atmosphere of the shop is relaxing and comfy. The ice cream is amazing, with so many choices of flavors! Highly Recommended!
