Very small and cute bakery! They had a lot on the menu not available! I did try the butter croissant. It was alright. Not the best I have ever had. I think Amelias bread is better! Do really enjoyed the wheat rolls! Very good with some butter! Service was nice and fast! Definitely recommend to try this place out!

When I moved to Indy a little over a year ago, I was excited to try Rene’s and never quite found a time in my schedule to visit before they closed. Now that they are back open, I have enjoyed several delicious visits and can definitely see what all the fuss is about.
So far I’ve only tried the pastries, but everyone was a beautifully laminated, perfectly flaky, wonderfully flavored treat. I’ve had their plain buttered croissants, blackberry danish, vanilla croissant, almond croissant, almond-filled pan au chocolat, and more, each with its own distinctly yummy flavors. My favorite so far is the vanilla croissant, since it has a much lighter sweetness.
Everyone at the bakery is very friendly and kind, helping you pick out exactly what you’re craving that day. The place is tiny, so only a couple groups are allowed in at once, which is also something I love since I often get to have short little chats with other pastry-goers. There is a real sense of community here and I love it!

If you haven’t tried Rene’s you haven’t tried anything! Rene’s is a good little bakery with only space to order takeout. Their croissants aren’t the usual croissants, it’s syrup flavor and croissant in a wholesome combination! Warm syrupy and delicious in every layer! Rene just was worth the hype! I ordered a brownie too which was chewy fudgy with the right amount of chocolatiness! Service is super quick if you go right after opening! Rene’s serves a variety of fresh bread too and has a good menu ready for you to make a choice.

PERFECT! PERFECT! PERFECT
Rene’s bakery is totally worth the hype. Their croissants were made to perfection. They’re so flakey, fresh and light
We ordered their Ham & Swiss, weekend specials jalapeño popper croissants and scone. Scone was fruity and mildly sweet. I would definitely go back to try their bread and more of the croissants

Tiny, tiny hole in the wall bakery that is simply to die for! granola all look scrumptious! Being a quick stop, I settled on their “chocolate chewy” cookie. Oh my goodness the combinations of textures: soft, crisp surface shell, walnuts, and the most perfect gooey middle. The coffee came from next door at Perk Up, equally delicious.

I’m sure every item on the menu is top tier, but the Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread Muffins are phenomenal. I bought 20 and my team has been telling me it’s the best muffin they’ve ever had. If you’re ever at the bakery, try one of these muffins, you won’t regret it. Sidenote: they do sell the pumpkin bread in loaves but the loaves cant have chocolate chips as of the time of me leaving this review.

The bakery is by far the best in Indianapolis/Indiana. I love how personal and kind the staff was, down to asking the thickness of the bread. I can’t tell you how excited I am to come back. The macaroons also were by far the best. I loved the flavor and the airiness of them, by far the best in the city. The price is very fair and I’m also surprised that they do custom orders. When I was there I asked if they sell milk bread, to which they said they don’t but would love to for me! The environment was very home like as it is a family business!

It was a small mom and pop type shop but the baked goods where amazing. When we showed up there was a line out the door. I honestly cant remember what everything was that we got but can I remember what it tasted like and it was probably the best baked items we have ever had. We do plan to go back for sure if we are out that way again. They also offer pup friendly treats for the fur baby’s and had bowls of fresh water out side for them.

Amazing pastries! We got the Blueberry pastry, pineapple pastry, orange hazelnut croissant and chocolate almond croissant. The two croissants were very different, so it would be hard to rank them. The orange hazelnut one is unique and very flavorful, but it is hard for me to pass up on a chocolate almond one. Both were very good. Same was true of the pastries, although the pineapple edged out the Blueberry as our favorite. Unfortunately they were out of the raspberry pastry when we got there, so we will need to go back to try that one
As another review mentioned, they do not have coffee, but there is a coffee shop within walking distance called perk up coffee. We got coffee there to go with our pastries and it was very good

The staff is always friendly and their baked goods are amazing. We try to stop here whenever we get a chance. You can see the staff baking everything behind the counter. It’s a little hidden, right behind La Piedad. I would highly recommend any of the croissants or fruit tarts.
